Poem: See skin deep

Fooled by her outer skin.
one look and they determined she was pretty.
Nothing more then a face and body.

But she always knew,
The word pretty came with an ugly glum.
Her weight, height and even shape was doomed.

She unintentionally  let them put her in a box.
One with very many locks.
just one look and people will listen to her speak.
how ever she knew they would never really hear her words.
This simple fact sadden her.

She knew she had to do something.
This just wasn't good enough for her.
She wanted substance not luck.
Not the fear that some day her looks would fade away.

So she wrote and hid her face
so no one would know
People from her home town loved her work,
And one day found out it came from her.

They all looked shocked and were a little rocked.
but the quickly learned.
Skin deep is nothing to judge by.
