Series Wednesday: Timetopia page 67

"Why don't you turn around so I can see that handsome face of yours and also so you can hand over the gun." Rev says with a smile to Charles. "How are you even awake? I gave you a pretty strong sedative one that would take out a gorilla." Charles says as he turns to hand his guns to Rev. "You don't know do you?" Rev says a little shocked. "I can assure I have no idea." Rev starts laughing. "Take a good look at me sweetheart, you're looking at the first generation of embryo testing. I am a mortified person my love." Rev says in the sweetest voice. Charles’ face drops. "I didn't know that. I learned about that when I hit the future. I knew they had been doing testing in our time but I was under the impression all of it was unsuccessful." Rev knobs yes at Charles. "I am the only successful one from my time of birth." Rev smiles so proud of herself but she didn't mention her siblings who survived as well. "That explains you falling off the church roof and not breaking anything." Charles says as he starts to walk toward the giant windows, Rev follows him with the gun pointed at him. "As good as this trip down memory lane has been we need your Orb."  Rev says it like he will just give in to her request. I stand here completely still thinking how I wish things had gone a little more like I planned. How did he know we were coming? "My Orb? You are joking right? Or are you just mad!? My Orb won't work for you. Clearly you guys are working for one of us how else would you be able to time travel."  Charles says just like the others but I want to know how he knew we were coming. "How did you know we were coming?" I ask ignoring what he said. "I didn't know you personally were coming. I set my Orb to alert me when a hole is torn in the time I am in and also for it to alert me when Rev’s DNA is within 1000 yards of me." That is really smart of him. That explains the alarm sending everyone away. "So back to my questions about my Orb." Charles says as he leans with his back to the floor to ceiling windows. "Your Orb will work for me if I combine it with the others. Well with your help of course." I explain to him. "Whose kid are you?"  I smile. "Kora." I state. "Her and West had a secret baby who is now trying to what? You are trying to take us all down or something?" He is assuming West is my father I wonder why. "I am not trying to take down anyone. I am trying to save you." Charles laughs at me. "Save me? That impossible with Rev on your team. You do understand that right? She is going to kill me no matter what she has told you." I laugh at him and so does Rev, I think this is my fault for miss-wording what I just said. "She told me she was going to kill you no matter what. I think I should have worded this better. I am here to save everyone but you I guess."  Charles starts to give a small laugh. "Yeah that's what I thought. I would ask what you're going to be saving the world from but I have run out of time. So why don't we talk about that next time." Charles drops through the floor. "WHAT???" Comes flying out of my mouth. "NO!" Rev screams and run over to where he was standing. "It's a trap door!" Rev says as she stands over the square hole in the floor. "What are we going to do?" I ask. Rev look at me and jumps in the hole. I look around the penthouse to find Rev’s back pack with all the guns in it because she has mine. I see the backpack by the thing that gives out coffee. I grab her backpack take a deep breath and jump down the hole.
The hole was long, cold and lead me to a room of mirrors. "I don't understand where we are." I tell Rev who is looking at all the mirrors. "It's a fun house that most likely leads to a safe room of some sort. We just have to make our way through and hope there are no traps." Rev says as she taps on one of the mirrors. I get up to hand Rev her backpack. "Here I think you might need this." She turns to look at me. "Yes I do need this." She smiles and grab out her gun which is much bigger than mine.  "So we have to walk through the mirrors?" I wonder if this is some kind of technology from her time. "No, the mirror are a maze. They are just set up to look like there is no way through. He took one of my favorite things and ruined it not a surprise." Rev keeps walking up to the mirrors and stepping back to look at the whole thing. "What is a maze?"  I ask Rev unsure if this is a good thing or bad thing we are about to walk into but judging from Rev's face I'm going to say bad. "A maze is a designed like a puzzle in which you have to find a way out. It is normally really fun but I have a feeling like this one isn't going to be." I walk up to the mirrors wondering how this could be fun. I like puzzles normally but this doesn't seem like a puzzle. "You said something about traps, what did you mean?"  Rev puts her backpack on her back. "You will see when we get to it. Come one." Rev walks through one of the mirrors. I walk over and see there is no mirror there it is an opening. I start to follow Rev and hope for the best.

Series Wednesday: Timetopia Page 66

I am searching through all the screens data to see where Charles was when we were coming through the hole. I look at all the rooms and I don’t see him anywhere. I think about what Kora said about there being labs here. I look for the labs on the screens but I am not sure what a lab even looks like. Maybe I should have asked Kora and Rev to go into more detail when they were talking about it. I wonder if a workroom is the same as a lab. I look through all the workrooms to see if I can find him. I go back 20 minutes before we came through and search every room. I wonder if I can use his picture to search for his face?? I pull up his picture from the history books on the screen and start to search for his face. The screen instantly pulls him up in front of the wellness center talking to a crowd. I make the screens go quicker to follow him up to the time we come through. Right before we start to come through an alarm seems to have been set off as the hole opens for us to come through. That is when Charles ran back to the penthouse. There are no cameras in there but everyone was cleared out of the wellness center. I think that means he pulled her to the penthouse.
I wonder the halls toward the penthouse trying to walk as gently as I can. I look around for anyone who might have stood behind but the halls are completely empty.  I have my gun in my hand but I don't want to walk with it up the way Rev showed me;  for the simple fact that if someone is hiding in here that has nothing to do with this I don't want to scare them or even worse hurt them. I walk up the stair to the next level where the penthouse is, as I reach the top of the stairs I see the door to the penthouse open. I take a deep breath and head in. I see Rev right away. She is attached to some kind of bag with water in it and she seems to be sleeping on a wellness bed. I run up to her and start to shake her but she will not wake up. "She is on a sedative. So there really is no use in shaking her." I hear Charles say from behind me. I just realized I dropped my gun as soon as I saw Rev so now I don't have it to point at him. I slowly turn around to face him. "Would you like something to drink?" He asks me as he walks over to this shiny metal tube. "No thank you." I say as he uses the metal tubs nozzle to pour out something dark with strong vanilla smell. He looks back at me and raises his tea cup. "It’s coffee just in case you were wondering what that smell was. I unlike the others couldn't give it up. I know in the new healthier world we created there is supposed to be no substitute for sleep but some habits are hard to kick. I'm sorry you have no idea what I am going on about." Charles sips on his coffee and sits on a sofa across from me. "Why don't you take a seat." he says to me pointing at the love seat not too far from where I am standing. I walk over and sit down not too sure what to say. "I have to ask; I will regret it if I don't. Why Charles?? Why the name change?" I just have to know.  "Richard was my father's name and it was what all my loved ones called me. When I woke up in the future I thought it was time for a change. My loved ones were all dead and so was Richard. Why Ava? I mean why did your parents name you that? Did you ever ask?" I laugh at his questions about my name. "My name is not Ava. Ava is short for Aviator.  They were once brave pilots who fought in wars." His face goes very blank by my explanation of where my name came from. "I know what an aviator is my great grandfather and father were both pilots. That is not a very girly name, is it?" Charles says as he looks up with great thought. "No it is not, I have been telling my parents that for many years."   He kind of makes a snort sound and shakes his head. "I just have one other question about your name." He states. "Okay. What is it?" I ask very curious what it might be. "There is no history that Aviators ever existed. We didn't want to give people heroes to admire beside us. So please explain how your parents named you after something they had no idea even existed." I stop breathing and start thinking. They didn't teach us about aviators in school. The only reason I know what my name mean is just because my parents told me. "It leads me to believe that you're not helping Rev, that she is helping you but why would she be helping you? Why are you special?" Charles says as he pulls a gun out of the sofa and points it at me. "Oh Richard aren't you always late to the party." Rev says from behind Charles with a gun pointed right at his head. "I didn't even hear you move, I forgot how good you are at that." Charles says Rev just laughs

Series wednesday: Timetopia page 65

Rev is looking at a map of where Charles is supposed to be, she is trying to plan how we are going to sneak up on him. Kora knows what years he is in and where he stays in those years. Which year we are going to is up to me. I want to go back to the beginning before he knew Rev was here. I think the shock of seeing her will give us some advantage. I am not scared to see Charles but more scared of what Rev will do when she sees him. I don't think killing him will bring her peace the way she thinks it will, but trying to tell her that is like trying to teach a turtle to bark.  Rev looks up from her map at me. "I think this would be the best place to get him." She points at a wellness center. "Why would he be there?" I ask her not understanding how she knows he is going to be there. "Look! He keeps a penthouse on top of this one. Which means he stays there while he does his research. Trust me you have no idea how many labs I had to make beds in while he was wrapped up in a project. He is a scientist to the bone. He loves to live in his research he always said it helped him think."  His research?? What kind of research would he be doing at a wellness center? "And to think I use to believe wellness centers were a place for people to get help." I say to Rev. "Wellness center are just laboratories. We needed a friendly name for it so people would flock there when they were in need. We not only studied blood work but also human behavior there. Plus without research people would never cure anything, laborites are needed." Kora adds as if this information would make me feel better. To think that my whole life the Five were just studying us is a thought that makes my skin crawl.  "That doesn’t make things much better." I tell her. "It is not intended to make anything better it is simply the truth. If you are going to get Charles’ Orb you have to know what you are walking into." Kora says as she rubs my shoulder. "So are there any other crazy secrets we should know about before facing Richard?" Rev asks Kora. "Of Course there is but what fun would it be if I just told you." Kora stands there smiling. "Right, so we will just figure it out at the most awkward time. Got it!"  Rev responds as she finishes putting notes on the map.  "Here, have the evil brain washer and scan the map that way it can help us once we get there." Rev says as she hands me the map so i can scan it with the orb. I wish she wouldn't call the orb a brain washer.
"Are you ready?" I ask Rev as she puts her back pack on. "Nope not at all but today seems like a good day for vengeance, right?" I am not sure if that statement actually needs a response. I grab the Orb and think of Charles in the past, the Orb lights up and I drop it to the floor. "Here we go." I tell Rev whose face looks completely blank. Which means she is really scared that's the only time I have noticed she hides her facial expressions. We go through the hole to find Charles and I feel like I am falling. I hit the ground hard.  I haven't hit this hard since I learned how to use the Orb. "Rev" I yell out to see if she is hurt. I start to get up and I look around. It is dark and red lights are flashing which mean we set off an alarm when we came in. I just realize Rev hasn't said anything back. I look around and don't see her. I pull off my back pack to get a flash light to see if maybe she is passed out and I am just missing her in the dark.  I turn my flash light on and look around. She is nowhere near me, if I landed here and we walked though together shouldn't we land right next to each other?? I get up so I can start wondering around. I see a bunch of thing on the floor like glass and pens. It is like everyone who was in here just dropped everything in their hands and ran. I see the doors are open, it must mean no one is trying to trap me. I slowly move up the stairs I must have been in the basement which explains the darkness and lack of windows. I walk up to the main level and still no Rev anywhere. I need a new plan seeing as without Rev my plan won’t work. Should I try to get the Orb alone?? No, that seems like a bad idea. I should just try to find Rev first. Okay now that I know what I am doing lets work on the how. I look around to see all the doors to everything are open. I wonder if they left the control room open not that I would have a problem getting past the lock but it would be nice not to have to cut myself. I start to head toward the control room very slowly just in case there are any managers or wellness checkers around. I see the control room door open I am not completely sure but I don't think they are supposed to do that. I walk over to the control room and it is empty.  I am so relieved that no one is here. I put my gun down on the desk to see all the screens are off.  I start to try and turn them on to see if there is any data on what made everyone run out of here. I get the screens to turn on and turn on the cameras to see if there is anyone else in the building. I look around and there is no one. Where is Rev? I look back through the data to see if she fell through when I did. I am searching, I see me walking through the hole and Rev is next to me, we aren't all the way through it yet it is just our leg. What is that??? I get closer to the screen there is a hand coming out of another hole. I see the hand grab Rev’s leg and pull her through the other hole. Whatever it was pulled her so fast it knock us both over. Someone took her, it has to be Charles who else would it be?? Who else could it be??

Poem: Paper degrees

Uneducated in the eyes of the sophisticated society with paper degrees.
My antiquated truths fall flat on ear of supposed open minded thinkers.
Saying the future is nothing like the past,
snarking at the humble begins at which most of us came from.
I  show no shame for my start.
I am proud of my hard working parents.

Foolish are those who see a paper hung on a wall and assume that paper stand for knowledge.
When indeed that paper could stand for payments.
They say our time is the time of accessible information.
How arrogant my generation.
To think the information they find at the end of key word search to be true.
Without real research.
Our time is the time of impostors and hypocrites.

Take a good look back at the greats and you will see.
We are on the same time line of destruction.
Egos to big cannot be carried for long.
But my words are just one uneducated person's opinion.
One who does not learn from the past will be doomed to repeat it.
A saying i agree with all too well.

But for all of those who think we are the first to be this big.
just pick up a book on Romans or the Greeks.
Do a little research in the library of Alexandria .
See what happened to people from the past who thought they were all knowing.
Where might they be now?

Humility is the only way for true survival.
So much like the great we will be in books.

Where future children guess if we were fact or folklore

Series Wednesday: Timetopia page 64

Everyone is sitting on the sofa waiting for me to say what my plan is. "It’s okay to be nervous." Kora says trying to comfort me. I wish I could just talk to Rev about my plan. "Rev you know that game you told me about with the flash lights?" Rev face looks puzzled probably because she only told me about it once while we were on the road driving. "Flash light tag?" Rev says slowly. "Yes....... That one..... Ummmm. I was thinking we could do that to Charles. We could make him look in the dark for us flashing the lights only where we want him to look misdirecting him throwing him off for you to attack."  Kora and Rev looked at each other for a while and then back at me. "That could work if we knew exactly where he is going to be." Rev says looking at Kora for a response.  "How???? I mean we could.... Ummm well..." Kora stumbles over her words just as I have just done. We all stand there in silence I think they just realized that having me come up with a plan is not a good idea. “Ava walk me through this a bit.” Rev says as she stands up. I think she literally wants me to walk her through my plan.

I lay on the floor after going over the plan step by step with Rev although she thought I was crazy the first half of the time. She finally started to get on board. I am exhausted from running through the plan over and over again. “We should go for a walk.” Kora says as she reaches her hand out to me to help me up. I take her hand and get up off the floor and we head outside. “After you get the last Orb from Charles you are going to need to get back here for the last piece of the plan.” I look over at her as we walk. “What is the last piece?” I ask, she stops walking and shows me her necklace.  She must be talking about the flash drive. “Why would I need that?” I ask her not fully understanding why I would need anything from her flash drive thing.  Kora says “because you will need to go back to stop us from ever creating the time machines in the first place. This flash drive has everything my team and I have ever worked on and all of my research. I am the keeper of all of it I guess you could say.” She laughs. “How did you get that job?” I ask wondering how and why they would trust one person with all the information. "I was the only one who wouldn't use the information to benefit only me." Kora says as if its fact but she had me for her own benefit, didn't she? I am not sure what to say. "Why did they think that? I mean that you wouldn't use it to for your own benefit." I ask with West’s words in the back of my mind. I look long and hard watching every line on her face waiting for an answer. "I had nothing to use it for. We all tried everything to save my sister.  Once it was figured out that she could not be saved my life goal was to make this place everything we had dreamed about. This is why it hurts me so much to have to destroy it, but I will not let our dream become a prison for people. That is just something I needed to change." Kora is trying to do what is best for everyone not just herself. I think West might have known a different Kora. Maybe Timetopia and losing her sister changed her.  "Why can't we just find the person responsible for all of this and just stop them? Why do we have to stop Timetopia’s creation?” I ask Kora hoping that she might see there is another way then just eliminating everything I have ever known. “There is no way of knowing for sure who is doing this. Plus without the Five to keep Timetopia in check…….. It will more than likely just become the world we left behind. I can’t let that happen.  I didn’t go through all of this for this just to become what we left. I would rather you just change that world. I think you and the information on this flash drive can do just that.” I can hear the hope in her voice. “How many were killed in that ruin where your sister was buried?” I ask hoping to remind her of what she did to get herself here. “I wish I could say that those ruins killed millions but by the time we made the Orbs there were not even millions left.” Kora says sadly. “I thought those ruins were from the past not from your time. When exactly did you start it all over again?” Kora shakes her head at my responds. “Yes your right the ruins were not the future. It was the past but all those people were already dead and the future was not a place anyone wanted to go.” Kora says thing just as blunt as Rev. This must have something to do with the world they were raised in. "They were alive when you whipped out the world though, were they not?" I ask Kora trying to really understand her. "Yes they were and it was one of the hardest parts of making this new world. But at the time I thought it was a necessary evil and once I realized we did all this for nothing I came up with this plan." I hear her words and I don't think her justification of everything makes any of it right, maybe undoing everything she did to get here is the right thing.

Series Wednesday: Timetopia Page 63

Rev has been sleeping in my bed since the castle. She says it is for my protection but I don't believe her. I think she is scared just as much as me. I hear my door open to my room I look up and look at it. "Get up it's time to go over the plan." Kora says as she stand in the door way. I shake Rev awake. "Come on she isn't just talking to me," I tell her. Rev rolls out of bed and we start to head to the kitchen where Kora has made us food. "This is the only good part of these talks is that you make us wonderful food."  Rev says as she starts making herself a plate. "So we are finally at the end of the road on this long journey." Kora says to me as she hands me my plate. "Then I can get back home." Rev says like this has just always been the plan. "Then I will be without a home or lands or even my people." I respond to both of their statements. "You will have a chance to change the world Rev lives in but we will get into all that after you retrieve the last Orb." I really want to know what her plan is for me. I hate how she only tells me a little bit at a time. "So where is the file on Charles?"  I ask looking at the table and noticing the lack of paper, unlike any of the other Five we have faced. Kora sits down with a plate of her own. "We have his walking, talking file right here in front of us."  She looks at Rev. "He is an asshole. There I taught you everything I know." Rev goes back to eating.  Kora rolls her eyes at Rev. "Well I was a afraid you might say that." Kora gets up and grabs a folder from her desk in the corner of the kitchen. She puts the folder on the table.  Rev grabs the folder quickly and starts looking at what's inside. "Wow you have our juvenile records in here..... I am not going to lie but I'm a little impressed. EWW why do you have my high school year book photo?" Rev says while ripping the photo up.  "This was everything I could find on Charles and seeing that before he was awoken in the future you were the biggest part of his life so naturally I had to research you as well."  Kora says as she pulls the folder away from Rev. Kora hands the folder to me to look at. I open it up to see a lot of Rev in it. "Charles is going to be different from the others. He isn't from our time so his whole perception on the world was very different than ours. He will think more like you Rev so he will see anything your planning coming from a mile away." Kora says. "Trust me I have thought of that already which is why I am not planning a thing Ava is going to plan it all out." I look at Rev wondering when she has planned anything since we met. She just flies by the seat of her pants as she would say it. Great now I have to come up with a plan to beat Charles who I thought was the one behind all of this but now I am not so sure.

"So do you have a plan or are you just going to lay in bed all day?"  Rev asks as she pulls the blankets off my head. "It's not like we ever really have a plan anyway. Why can't we just go in like we normally do?" I ask Rev as I pull the blanket back over my head, she rips it right back off.  "We could but Richard will kill us if we don't have some kind of a plan. He is too smart for that." Rev is shaking her head. I lay there wondering if we could just make him think we are there when we aren't or make him see two of us. I think I can do something like that with the Orb like some kind of illusion. "I think I got a plan. Get the weapons ready."  I tell Rev as I hop out of bed to start getting ready myself.  I start to put on some clothes as I am trying to work it out in my head how I am going to do this. First I am going to need to figure out where Charles is going to be.  I finish getting dressed and walk into the living room where my mom is sitting with Kora. When I walk in they both turn and look at me. "Hi Sweetie," my mom says. "Hi mom." she gets up and gives me a hug. I hold on to her, there is nothing in this world like my mother’s embrace. "I am proud of you. I know you were sad when you found out you were not my biological daughter. But I wouldn’t change it for the world. I love just as much as if you did come from me. Your father and I had a joke that our baby picked us. I know I won't ever see you again after this so I just wanted you to know how much I love you my sweet girl." My mom whispering all this in my ear is making the tears flow. "Where is dad?" I whisper back. "Outside," I let my mom go and walk outside. There he is standing so tall and strong with all his white hair. I hug him so tight he lifts me off the ground. "I am glad that I at least got to see you old once in my life." I whisper in my dad's ear. "I love you Aviator!" I laugh. "That's not a girl's name." I whisper into my dad's ear, this phrase is one he is use to hearing by now for it was something I said often as a young girl, I use to cry to him how my name was meant for a boy. My dad would always reassure me that a person makes the name not the name that makes a person. My dad laughs at me and puts me down. "Do you think I am doing the right thing by following Kora's plan?" I ask my dad. "I think that Kora is one of the five who created our wonderful lands and if she thinks that you can changes things for the better I have to have faith in that. I have to have faith in the daughter I raised." Once again I just feel like neither of my parents really get what is about to happen. They are just blindly following Kora. I am not sure what to say to my dad besides. "I love you dad and I am so grateful to have been raised by you."  I hug my dad. "Has she told you who your real father is?" My dad asks as he steps back from our hug. "No she hasn't nor have I asked." My dad’s face looks a little shocked by my answer. "Why haven't you asked?" My dad inquires. "I have a dad. I don’t care who might have fathered me with Kora that doesn’t make him my dad. Just like the fact that Kora mothered me doesn't make her my mom. Even if you guys would have told me you didn’t have me and none of this would have happened I would have never asked who my blood mother was. I have you guys and that is more than enough for me," I explain to my dad. His eyes start to tear up. "Ava! We need to go over the plan."  Rev yells from the front door. I smile at my dad and hug him for the last time. I start to head back to tell them my crazy idea that I hope will work.

Series Wednesday: Timetopia page 62

I sit outside waiting for Rev to come out. "Why are you out here like a creeper?" She says as she comes out handing me some grapes. "I think we should go for a walk." I tell her, she look back inside and nods yes. We start walking away from the house. "Who do you trust?" I ask Rev. "No one. That was an easy one next question." She is making a joke when I am serious. "Rev please be serious. Only 5 people have the orbs and one of them is doing bad things. So who is the bad guy?  I mean we have 3 of the orbs so that leaves 2 people to choose from. Right?" Rev stops walking causing me to stop. She turns to look at me. "Why do you think any one person is good or bad? Look Ava from everything you have seen you still haven't learned anything. No one is completely bad or good. People themselves the are mistakes, we are trial and error that is what life is about. Yes people are capable of horrific things but trying to put people into categories is what has always messed people up." I hear what Rev is saying but I don't agree. "Anyone who can kill people for no reason is a bad person."  I reply back to her statement. "No one kills for no reason. They may not all be good reasons but it does not mean they don't have one."  I am in shock that Rev is defending... well I'm not sure who she is defending. "What about Charles?? Isn't he a bad person??" I don't know where that came from but the question just blurts out of my mouth.  She shakes her head at my question knowing I don't mean to be rude but I am really just trying to figure her train of thought.  "Richard made a bad choice....... That is true, however he was never a bad person just a weak one apparently." I can tell my mind isn't the only one seeing things different because of this conversation. "Are you still going to kill him?"  I ask seeing her thoughts on that might also be changing. "Yes I have to. I know you won't understand but I am not going to kill him because I think he is a bad person, it's going to be for her. There is a saying where I am from that best explains “An eye for an eye." I look at Rev I don't think they believe in forgiveness where she is from. "Sounds like a lot of dead and blind people where you're from if that's a saying. None of this helps me figure out who is doing all of this." I feel so confused. "We are never going to make it back to my time if you keep seeing things all the same way. Since I got to your "utopia" nothing has been what it seemed. So why would you think whoever is doing this would be that easy to figure out. You are going to need to think outside of the circle for that one." Rev smiles. "Outside of the circle?" I ask I have never heard this phrase. "It works just as good if not better then a box." She laughs and starts walking back to the house. I am not sure what a box has to do with any of this.
I walk over to Kora's room; she is lying in her bed with her door open. I knock at her door. "Come in." She says without moving. "Are you okay?" I can see the tears running down her face. "No I'm not." She says so frankly. "Did your sister create the Decider?" I have been wondering since we found out about the flash drive. "No she didn't. The Decider had been around for some time before we were born. She was just one of the many doctors to work on figuring out why it only kills some and not the others."  She just seems so sad. "Erick murdered his wife?" I ask seeing if now is the time to talk about it. "What about it?"  Kora responds. "How is he a trusted friend of yours if he is a murderer?" I ask her, she sits up and pats on her bed for me to sit with her. "There is much more to Erick then you understand. He is very brilliant, which for some can drive them slightly mad. However my sister saw past the madness to his usefulness to our projects." I hear Kora's words, but Erick murdered his wife. "I don't think killing his wife because he was mad at her for sending their daughters to school is right no matter how you look at it." Kora nods at my words. "Ava you have grown up here in a land of no fear. You will never understand the life we lived nothing was ever just as simply right and wrong. Life was just a black hole." Kora just stops speaking in what felt like the middle of her thought. She sits there not looking at me even though her eyes were pointed at me it was like she was looking past me. “We should figure out who is doing this.” I tell her hoping it will light a fire under her to get her out of bed. “That won’t matter, you will go and stop all this from ever happening. We will go back to the plan tomorrow I just need a day to process everything you told me.”  Kora says as she sinks back down into her bed. I think it does matter who is doing this but I can tell today is not the day to talk about it. I get up off of Kora's bed and head back to my room to find Rev.

Series wednesday: Timetopia Page 61

I look around at all the ruins. Nothing was left, no cities or people. "How did you start over from this?" I ask looking around in horror. "We took all the children and very few teenagers. We started Timetopia with no adults, it was easier that way." Kora answers as if this was okay. "WOW! You guys just flat lined the world." Rev says as she looks around.  "Flat Lined?" I ask Rev. "It is what they call it when you die in a hospital bed. They say you’re flat lined." Rev smiles as if she just taught me something amazing. I realize that Kora has walked away from us. "Where is Kora?" I ask Rev and as the words leave my mouth Rev starts to look around. "She is gone!!!!! GREAT!" Rev and I look around and see her walking far ahead. Rev starts to run after her and I follow. Kora stops in front of a stone and drops to her knees in tears. "This is where she lays to rest." Kora can barely say over her tears. I look at Rev. "She is dead?" Rev says very confused. Kora looks back at us. "Yes she is dead. She passed away helping us make a better worlds." Kora says as she pulls her necklace out. I have seen this necklace in pictures of Kora, she is always wearing it. I can’t take my eyes off of the diamond heart locket. She keeps rubbing her necklace as if it will bring her sister back. She looks down at the ground. “Someone has been digging here.” Kora says as she points down. “What does that mean???”  Rev asks as she looks at the ground. "It means they got my sister’s locket and we are all screwed."  Kora says dramatically. "So they got her locket what's the big deal?" Rev asks.  Kora stands up and looks Rev right in the eyes.  Then she does something to her locket and a little silver piece is sticking out. "It’s a flash drive." Rev says.   I look at Rev and now even she has a panic look on her face.
"I don't understand. What is a flash drive and why is it making both of you panic so badly?" I ask as both Rev and Kora who is pacing back and forth. "It is a primitive device used to save data. It was however one of the last devices made that wasn't uploaded or connected to anything else. It is a stand alone data holder with no back up." Kora explains.  Rev whips her head toward Kora so fast. "Primitive??? Are you kidding?"  Rev says sounding offended. "In the future Rev this technology is not used like it is in your time, it was hard to find and very costly. However we knew we could not use anything on the market at the time. Everything in the future is uploaded and watched by whatever government you live under and even some that you don't."  Kora says. "What is uploaded? Why wouldn't you want anyone to see what you were working on?" I ask Kora. "Well I keep the instructions of how to make the orbs. I kept all of our research for the orb and much more other stuff. My sister on the other hand, her specialty was poisons and ways to disperse them most effectively." As Kora talks I see the look on Revs face go from panicked to focused. "So someone has your sister’s flash drive that has deadly information on it is what you’re telling us?" Rev says. "Yes it is." Kora says. "Now I am going to ask something I know that I don't want to know the answer to but I have to ask. Are the other poisons on their worse than the Decider or is that one, well one of the worst?" I am not sure why Rev wouldn't want to know the answer to this. I think this is super important to know.  "The Decider is child’s play to some of the things my sister created. She always had a flair for the how to despiser the poisons as well." Kora responds not breaking eye contact with Rev. "Well I'm glad she is dead." Rev says heartlessly. "REV THAT WAS RUDE!" I tell her. She just shrugs at me. "My sister was not a bad person. We all did what we had to. You would not understand the world we were raised in." Kora is defending her sister.  Rev starts looking around. "Yeah I wouldn't understand anything about that. Do you see those trees in the distance?" Kora and I look at the trees that seem to have gotten closer somehow.  "Are they moving closer?" Kora asks. "Seems like it." Rev response handing me a gun out of her backpack. "I think it’s time for us to leave if trees are closing in on us. What do you think?" I ask "Someone stole that flash drive. Someone who can brain wash people and make trees move. So I think leaving is a great idea, but that's just me." Rev says as she keeps her eyes on the trees.  I have the gun in hand not really sure where to aim it. "Your right whoever is doing this has done a lot already. We shouldn't stick around and let them ruin our plans." Rev and I look at Kora when she says that. Does this mean she still wants us to destroy Timetopia? Kora pulls out the orb and opens a hole for us to go back. Rev runs through first and I follow. I am afraid of what else is on that flash drive. I wonder if Kora has a plan for that as well. I know she is my mom but there is so much about her I don't know or if I even trust her. But seeing how broken up she was over someone digging up her sister makes me feel like maybe I should give her more of a chance. I just have questions that need answers at some point.

Poem: a dying plant trying to bare fruit

I can survive
But I haven't lived a day since the day you left my sights.
Living was never a thing I did.

I always just knew how to survive.
You saw past the party girl and the bottom of the bottle I call home.
You saw the burn makers that were so scarred in my soul.
The wounds infect on little girl behind closed doors.
But I knew how to survive.

I was raised that way.
By the truest survivor.
But that a story for another time.

This is about my misguided love for you.
Was it even you i loved?
Or the me you made me into.
Build a girl up just to watch her fall.
I'm sure that was never your intention.
That is just how this love story played out.
But here I am the little survivor.
A misguided youth thinking she could save those around her.
A dying plant still trying to bare fruit to feed the ones she loved.
Never really living but always ending up on top.

Because when you don't care where you end.
There is only up.

Series Wednesday: Timetopia Page 60

West pulls out his orb and looks into it as a red light shines into his eyes. It lights up after it’s done. "Here now you can combine them." He tells me sticking his orb out. I connect the orbs and that's when I see it. I see Kora sitting in a long hallway with a bunch of other people. She was so beautiful I feel over whelmed.  I hit the floor. "AVA!" Rev is shouting in my face. "I'm okay. It's just the memory he saved in his orb." I look at West. "Why is that the only memory you put in there?" West looks at me for a little bit. "It was the day my life felt like it began." He gets up and walks out of the room.  "We should get going." Rev says, I don't feel right just leaving. I get up and follow him. "I am sorry she hurt you" I tell West. "It's okay........... It's not your fault you know and for the record you’re nothing like her."  I look at West, how could he say I am nothing like her. Is that a good or bad thing? "I am not sure how to take that.  Kora is one of the nicest people I have ever met. I mean she is a little pushy but still very nice." I see West eyes change as I speak. "Kora was raised in a country that made girls become scientist or hookers. Since she was a young girl that all she was raised to do, fake pleasure and give the illusion of love as well as being brilliant. So a lot of her emotions can be questionable. You are genuine that's the difference.  You should be on your way." West gave me a hug and walked away. I guess it's time to go.

Rev and I are laying down looking at the ceiling. "West really wasn't what I expected." I tell Rev replaying our conversation in my head. "Have you asked Kora about what he said?" Rev asks me. "No, I am not sure if I even want to ask her anything. Plus by the time we got here last night it was late."  Rev rolls her eyes at me, I can't see her but I can feel it.  "Chicken!! You need to know why she didn't tell you she married West or the fact that Erick killed his wife. You know things that might have been good to know."  I look at Rev. She knows I am not like her. I don't want to ask Kora anything. "If you care so much why don't you ask?" I tell her. "You know I don't care, I'll ask her right now. Come on. See how the big girls do it." She laughs as she gets up off the bed. She walks out into the living area, Kora is not in there. She walks outside and there she is sitting with the children in the garden. "I have a few questions for you." Rev says to Kora. Kora looks at all the children around her and smiles. "I have to go now as should all of you." All the children go back to their homes. Kora looks at Rev, "Well spit it out." She says to Rev. "You found my mother." I stop and look at Rev that wasn't the question I was expecting. "Yes I did. I was not sure how to tell you so I left it to Ava." Kora answers as she stays seated in the garden. "Okay. Well I would like all the details on what you found." Rev responds. "Of course, there is a file on the kitchen table ready for you."  Rev smiles at Kora's response. "Thank you. Now Ava has a few questions for you." Rev says and pushes me forward and walks away.  Kora smiles at me. "I figured you were going to have some questions after West." Kora say as she motions to a spot next to her on the floor. I sit next to her and think about my words carefully. "Yeah I do. I don't understand why you wouldn't have told us you were married to him or that Erick killed his wife. However none of that is important right now. We took West to the future and things were not what you think. West and the others were being brain washed. Also some kind of poison was brought back, it's called the Decider." I watched Kora's face change as the worlds leave my mouth. She starts to shake her head no and gets up and runs to the house. I follow her as she storms in. "NO NO NO!!! It can't be possible!" She keeps saying over and over again. Rev turns and looks as she rushes into my room. "Where is it Ava?" she asks me. "I am lost where is what?" I ask her. "Where is the orb?"  I look at Rev. "Calm down and tell us what’s going on." Rev tells Kora. "If the poison is back it means something so much worse. I need the orb!" She is frantic at this point. Rev has the orb but I can see she isn’t going to give it up. "What does it mean?" I ask her calmly.  "It means they found my sister. If someone found her, which is if they have we are in a world of trouble. More then you could imagine." Kora face is full of fear. I look at Rev and nod for her to hand the orb over.  Rev pulls the orb out of her pocket. "Where is your sister?" Rev asks before handing it over. "Somewhere I thought no one would ever find her." Kora says as she reaches for the orb. "So she is here in Timetopia." Kora laughs at my question. "She is the founder of Timetopia."  Rev hands it over. Kora closes her eyes and the orb lights up. Rev grabs my hand and then grabs onto Kora, we all go flying. I hit the ground hard. "Why would you do that?" I hear Kora yelling at Rev. "I wanted to see where you were going." Rev says as she gets up. I look around and there is nothing around us. There are no trees or grass and the ground has no growth of any kind. "Where are we?" I ask. "This is the beginning of Timetopia. Before we came up with the serum to erase people. We had to rid the world of its old ways and this is what was left."

Poem: The boy with the whimsical heart

It's the strange miscellaneous moments that make me love you.
The times I catch you dancing to no music
or making funny faces when you're trying to be serious.
It's simply the way your heart bleeds for any one in need.

You are defiantly not an old soul.
No one would ever accuse you of that.
Your baby face would defend this fact until the end of its days.

We were not the path either of us in tended when we came to this coast.
But it was your unwavering strength that ended us up hand in hand.

So as I lay here with you fast asleep in my arms.
I gaze upon you adoringly.
For you knew long before I did we were not a faze but a love that would amaze.

With all the love in that heart of your I know we will never cease to grow

The guarded girl and the boy with a whimsical heart.

Series Wednesday: Timetopia Page: 59

I look at Rev and West who are arguing about what to do with the orb. I can’t stop looking at future West tapping on his chains. It is starting to drive me crazy.  So I walk over to him and look at his chains. He reaches out and touches me I step back and he goes right back to tapping. His chains look like the ones in Timetopia. They have the locks that come undone with my blood. I give my hand a small cut and put it on the lock and wait for it to unlock but nothing happens.  They must use someone else’s blood. Future West is reaching out to me again but this time he looks at me with the saddest eyes. I grab his hand to comfort him. He turns his arm over, I don’t understand. I look at his arm but he has sleeves on so I pull his sleeves up. Maybe he is uncomfortable in his chain. I look down after rolling up his sleeve he has cuts on his arm. I look at him and he looks at me. Could it be that his own blood unlocks his chains. That would be risky. I cut him with my pocket knife. “What are you doing?” West yells at me. “I am seeing if his blood unlocks his chains.”  I reply as I put his blood on the locks and they unlock. “Why are you trying to set the brain wash zombie free?” Rev asks me. When the chains come off I hear a loud alarm. “It’s lighting up.” West yells I turn and look back at him the beam is starting to come out of the orb again. “It’s going to get all of us and brain wash us if we don’t leave.” Rev yells as she runs over to me and grabs me. I pull out my orb as West drops the one with the beam coming out. Rev grabs us as I drop my orb to through us threw the orb back to the past.
I wake up on the floor with my orb in my hand. I start to look around and I am in my house. "Ava?" I hear as I open my eyes. I see my mom. "Mom, how did you get back to the house?" My mom looks around nervously. "Sweetie I am not sure what you're talking about." I start to really look at her. She is much younger. I sit up and see Rev and West both still sleeping. "How old am I here?" I ask my mom.  "Your 6," my mom answers. This explains her tone when she first saw me. I start to wonder why I threw us back here. Or even what day it is. "What is today?  Is it a special day?" I ask my mom.  "No today is not anything special. You are sick which is highly unusual but they say it is growing pains." I look at my mom. I don't ever really remember getting sick as a kid. "Where am I? I mean little me from this time." She points to my room. I get up and walk over to my room to see my dad lying in bed with me holding me as I slept. I do remember this day. Both of my parents stayed in bed with me all day. We played games in bed. No one and nothing else mattered that day.  This was a day I felt safe and happy. I just forgot I had been sick. This must have been why I sent us here, to a safe place. "Ava are you okay? How did you get here?" My mom whispers behind me. "I am Kora's daughter I used her time machine." I can hear my mother gasp at my words. I turn around I need to get Rev and West out of here. I start to shake Rev. She opens her eyes and looks at me. "This isn't West's house." I look behind me at my mother. Rev looks at my mother and her eyes widen. "Oh that's where we are. You got to get us out of here before he wakes up." I nodded yes. I turn to my mom and give her a hug. I can’t say a word and she doesn't say anything either. I squat next to West and drop the orb making an opening on the floor. We push West through and follow right behind him.
We are back at West's house. We are all drinking chocolate almond milk. "So are you going to give me your orb?" I ask West. "Yes I have no problem with giving it up if that’s my future with it." West says. "Well that's good now we don't have to kill you. Although killing you still sounds like a super good idea. I mean it will be better than there ever being a possibility of becoming a brain washed zombie." Rev says as she sips her milk. "There are just so many unanswered questions. Like who turned my orb on me. Who is the real master mind behind the future? I would also like to know how they got the recipe for the Decider. Oh and I am not ignoring your comment Rev we just both know you can't kill me so why pretend." West laughs. Something he said just caught my attention. "What do you mean the recipe for the Decider?"  I ask him. “Well the Decider is a poison it’s made up of a bunch of different elements. They have to mix it together a certain way to get the poison just right.” West explains to me. “So who would have that information?” I ask West. He shrugs. “I am not sure it was from my country. I think it was from Kora’s or Lilly’s. No wait Lilly's was bombing. It had to be from Kora's. Maybe that's why they killed her in the future for the recipe. Otherwise she would have just been brain washed with the rest of us.”  West says. He makes a good point but who does kill her in the future? "Why kill Erick then?" Rev says West looks at her. "I forgot about him. He wasn't in the future either. That's strange especially since making poisons and studying the way they affect the brain was his specialty, plus the fact that he is the only one of us who has ever survived the poison." I look at West. Erick is the nicest person I had ever met.  "What how did he get poisoned with it?" I ask. "Well his country was the one under attack from Kora's country. Erick was one of the survivors who was put on the task of ridding their lands from all the bombs and poisons that were left in the soil after all the wars. That's how he met his wife. She was a survivor to. Too bad about their kids." West must be talking about the night they were bombed. "Well they were born during war. He should have expected them to get bombed." Rev says. The way she says it is not her normal I don't care attitude this was something different. "They didn't die in the Great Ending." West says a little confused. Rev looks at me. "What is the Great Ending?" I ask. "It was when all the bombs fell on what was left of the world and they gathered only the smartest from each country to survive. They started calling it The Great Ending. But Erick's kids didn't die then. They died along with all the kids that were poisoned. They didn't survivor The Decider like their parents. They were killed in school with all the other kids. Erick went crazy after that. It was one of the reasons I didn't want to work with him. How can you work with a man who slit his own wife's throat?"  West words hit my ears like a brick. "HE DID WHAT!?" Rev and I say at the same time. We both look in shock. “Yeah he went crazy. I guess his daughters were not supposed to be in school. His wife was supposed to be home schooling them. He knew something like this was going to happen, so when it did he was angry. When he went to trial he said he didn’t remember killing her. Just coming home and being angry.” I can’t believe what I am hearing.

Series Wednesday:Timetopia page 58

I stand outside of the door way with a feeling of fear. I feel something grab me from behind. I start kicking. "Stop kicking." It's my voice I hear. I turn my head and I am looking at myself.  "How?" I am older.  "Years of being stuck here and Rev having to deprogram us. Listen I have to go before the change or I will be stuck here without a time. DO NOT LOOK INTO THE LIGHT! That's how I got lost. You need to go find Rev. Make sure no one looks into the light. It will change your mind. Okay?"  I look at myself very confused. "What do you mean? How were you lost?" I shake my head at myself. "Listen I don't have a lot of time. But nothing here is what it seems. Everyone is a prisoner but with no one imprisoning them. I never saw where the light was coming from I just started to look into it right where I grabbed you and that was the last thing I remember until 6 months ago when Rev drowned me. I died for a few second but it rebooted my brain. It took her 3 years to get me back. She was stuck here after they killed West. You got your answer West isn't the bad guy now you need to go and so do I." I smile at me. She pulls out her orb and is gone. I get up and run down the hall way to find Rev. I see Rev and run right up to her. "My future self-came to me. We are going to get trapped here if we don't leave now!" I scream out. "What!?" Rev says as I pant out of breath. "I found West in a room and he is repeating everything the beam of light tells him to. I was standing at the door when I grabbed myself. Well future me. She said she got lost in the light and it took you 3 years to bring her back. We were stuck here. The beam of light changes minds. That's what she said and that everyone here is a prisoner without anyone imprisoning them." I hold on to Rev I am too scared to let go. "You found me?" West says. I point down the hall I came from.  West starts running. "If what your saying  is correct we have to stop him." Rev says. I grab on to  Rev tighter I don't want to go back toward the light. "I am right here Ava everything will be okay. Come on." Rev grabs me by the hand and we start running after West.

We get to the end of the hall way where the beam of light is.  West is standing with his back to the wall next to the door where the beam is coming from.  West has tears in his eyes. Rev stops me. "Is it a beam of light?" She asks me. "Yes. It looks that way." I answer looking down the hall way. "Good follow me. West stay right there!" She yells down the hall way. I follow her into one of the rooms. She runs over to the window. She opens it and sticks her head out. "Perfect come on," she says as she climbs out the window thankfully we are only on the first floor. I follow her out the window. She slowly walks up to the window with the light beam. She looks back at me and smiles. "The beam goes to the door. We can get in this way." She punches in the window and knocks all the glass off of it. We climb through the window. "Look the beam is just pointing at West." Rev says as I finish climbing through the window. I look at where the beam is coming from. It is coming from an orb. "It’s an orb." I tell Rev. "I told you those things are EVIL!" I look at her. I pull out my orb and focus on turning this orb off. My orb lights up and starts its own beam of light on to the other orb. The other orb’s beam of light goes out.  West walks in the room. "It was my orb doing this?" He asks as he walks up to the orb. Which is now on the floor. "Oh yes lets touch the brain washing machine. That seems like a top notch idea." Rev says as she walks over to the West from this time. She circles him. "So this is what you become. At least you still look good." Rev says as she laughs. West looks back at her and himself from the future. "Yeah thank goodness for that." He says as he laughs. I don’t understand the joke. This is all very terrifying. "How did your orb do this to you?" I ask West as he picks it up. "I am not sure. Someone had to of programmed the orb to do it. I just wish we could ask me for answers or future me.... well you know what I mean."  I look at future West just sitting in his chair chained down. "Why don't we reboot his brain?" I ask. Rev looks at me. "Did your future self-tell you that?"  Rev asks me. "Yes, she said you had to kill me to reboot my brain. I was dead for a few second she said. You drowned me." I explain to Rev. "I wouldn’t drown you right away. I must have tried a lot of other things first that didn't work. So we should just skip the idea faze of this and just drown him to death." West turns and looks at Rev. "OR not. There has to be another way. We could just use the orb to help us."  West says as he is holding his orb. "Right let’s have the crazy brain washing orbs help us. I am sure it won't do anything evil or I don't know but BRAIN WASH US!" Rev got really loud at the end of her sentence. I can’t take my eyes off of future West’s chains.  He keeps tapping on them just slightly. I wonder what would happen if we let him out of them.

Poem: Its all on me

I can not change the dream at hand.
All i can do is strive to make it real.
Fight past the same old addictions and the cheaper thrills.
I will not let the world tell my dream will be unfilled.
And even when the people around me are not listening I will still prevail.
When they lose interest in what it takes to make my dream real
I will laugh and still do the thing best for my dream.
There is no one here that might share my dream with me.
But out there in this big world i am not alone.
There are many who are chasing the same as me.
But sadly only few will have this dream.
It will be me you will see.
For i will not give up even when at first i fail.

Series Wednesday: Timetopia page 57

I see the people praying to the castle as the three of us are slowly making our way to it. That is where the West from this time is. West who came with us walks further ahead of us. West from this time, Charles and Lilly stand in front of the people and they seem to be getting ready for some kind of speech. “I know you have all been worried but today we have answers. The festival was a success, here are your chosen ones!”   Charles says as four people walk out in front. They must be the ones who survived the poison. I look at Rev as she comes up next to me. "Keep an eye on the West we came with. I am going to walk around a bit, I want to see something." I nod yes to Rev's request. I walk right behind the West we came with. His focus is on the West of the future. I put my hand on his shoulder to let him know I am behind him. "There is no way that is me.  Why is Charles doing all of the talking? Everything about this seems wrong," West says. He can’t take his eyes off his future self. Lilly walks forward to talk. “I know you must be saddened by the loss of your friends and neighbors, but their sacrifice was not in vein. With these survivors we can see what makes them special to save all of you. We came from a land of horrors and wish to protect you from it." Lilly smiles to the people after her speech. West is shaking his head in disapproval.  The people cheer for them. I look around and Rev is nowhere in sight. I am getting a little worried. West from this time steps to the front to speak. "As long as you have us you have no need to worry. We are your saviors without us you would not survive. Always remember that." West says and then walks to the back. The West that came with us looks so mad. "That's not me. I would never say that or become that. I have to talk to him. I need to know what happened."  West says as he looks back at me. "I thought you might feel that way. I found a way into the castle where we will be unnoticed." Rev says from behind me.  I turn and look at her. She always seems to appear out of nowhere. "Okay let’s go to the castle then." West says to Rev.
We make it into the castle passed all the people. Rev leads us to a window we climb through. Rev and West with guns in their hands. I am looking at this strange place. There are chains on the floor throughout the castle. Rev hears something and stops moving, she motions for us to stop moving. We all stop and stand close to the wall. I see in the distance Charles walking down the hall way toward us. He has chains around his legs. The chains seem to run with the chains on the floor. "He is a prisoner." Rev says. "The chains are like a railroad track. They allow him to move along the tracks but not off." West says to Rev. I am not sure what a railroad is. Charles looks funny. He doesn't at all seem like the Charles I have seen before. Rev look at me, "stay right here with West okay??" She tells me. "Okay I’ll stay right here."  She smiles at me and then looks at West. "If anything happens to her I will murder you so brutally that there will be no pieces of you for anyone to find. Got it?"  West laughs at Rev. "Yeah I get it." Rev walks into the middle of the hall way heading directly to Charles. "Richard." She shouts. He is not fazed by Rev at all. He just keeps walking along the wall. Rev steps directly in his path. "Richard." She says one more time.  It’s like he doesn't even see her. She grabs Charles. "Richard what the hell is wrong with you." She says as she shakes him.  “I know you have all been worried. But today we have answers. The festival was a success here are the chosen ones!" Rev looks back at us and then back at Charles. "Richard you said that already to the people." West looks at me very confused. Rev starts shaking Charles once more. "I know you have all been worried. But today we have...." Charles starts to say again. Rev stops him and then moves out of his way. He starts walking again like if she had never been there. He walks right passed us without even blinking. It's like he can't see us. Rev motions for us to walk over to her. West and I head over. "We need to find the other West." Rev says to West. He nods his head in agreement and we all start to run down the hall ways looking into each room as we go. I hear a voice coming from down a hall way. It’s a woman's voice, I stop running.  I turn down the hall way and follow the voice. Something about it seems so familiar. I walk over toward a room that has one beam of light shining out of it. I see West from this time sitting in a chair looking into the beam of light. The light is so bright I can’t see where it is coming from. "Today has been a great day for all of us. Thanks to your prayers we will not need to have another festival for a while. So you can all rest easy. Your lives are safe thanks to us."  The women's voice says. “Today has been a great day for all of us. Thanks to your prayers we will not need to have another festival for a while. So you can all rest easy. Your lives are safe thanks to us." West repeats what the women said from the beam of light. He keeps saying the same thing again and again. I start to back out of the room. It is like he isn't a person anymore. What has he become? Is this happening to Charles and Lilly to?

Series Wednesday: Timetopia page 56

We walk through the hole to the future. We are in a city but this one looks different then the last time we came to the future. Same houses as the last time with all the markings but no people.  Rev grabs her gun out of her bag.  West is looking at one of the stone houses. "This is a craving of my little brother." West says. I walk over to one of the houses he is looking at.  It looks like a story told in pictures. It starts with a little boy playing on swings and falling into a river where he drowned. "This is your little brother?" West looks at me. "Let me lose. Whoever did this must pay." I am not sure why he is now mad. Or what they did. I didn’t know West had a family seeming as they are not in any history book.  I look around and don't see Rev anywhere. "I am sorry I couldn't let you go even if I wanted to. Plus I am not sure why you are mad."  West licks his lips and sucks them both in for a second seeming to calm himself down. "Someone murdered my little brother. The last time I saw him he was on this swing. I ran to my house to get my action figure. We were going to tie a rock and see how fast he would sink. When I returned to the river my brother had drowned to death. There was a bruise on the back of his neck from where someone held him down. We never found his killer or why they killed him."  I feel bad for West I can see the pain in his eyes. "I am truly sorry for your lose." I tell him. He looks down. "The grass is dead."  He says. I look down and the grass is dead. I have never seen dead grass like this. "We should find Rev." I tell him and he nods yes. We start to walk through the rows of stone houses. No people anywhere to be seen. There is also no castle like last time. I see Rev standing on top of one of the stone homes. "What are you doing up there?" I ask her. She points out into the middle area past the homes. I walk over there.

I see dead bodies rioting away. I drop to my knees. How could this have happened? "We need to keep moving." West tells us as he rubs his shoulder past mine. Rev comes down from the house. "He is right we need to go. She says as she unlocks the chains on West. "Thank you." He tells her. "I am only unlocking you so if you have to fight you can." He looks at the bodies. "They were poisoned." West tells us. "How do you know?" I ask. "The veins on the bodies of the ones not so badly decayed their veins are black. I have seen this poison before.  We have to keep moving." I look back at Rev. I can feel the tears start to fall from my eyes. I look back at the body of a little girl. Her hair still in braids as half her face is gone. I can see her bones through her rioted flesh.  Rev puts her arms around me. "Come on honey. This is not anything you want to remember. We are going to stop this from happening okay?" She pulls me up off the floor. "How could someone do something like this?" I look at West. "I am sorry Ava. This is why we created Timetopia to stop this. The thing that is strange to me is the poison of choice.  West is looking over the bodies some more. Rev starts to push me away from them. "Is this poison special in some kind of way?" Rev asks as we walk away. "Yes this is a very special poison. In my time they call it The Decider."  West says as he starts to follow us.  Rev stops. "The Decider?? Okay you have me intrigued. Why?? Why in hell is it named that?" West laughs at Revs. "The passion in your voice every time you speak gets me. It was called that because not everyone who takes it dies. About 23% survive. They become healthier and stronger. But no one is sure why. It made no sense. There was no way of telling who would survive. Twins would take it and one or both would die. Which is highly unusual for identical twins since their genetic makeup is almost exactly the same. It drove some doctors crazy trying to figure out why. As far as I know they never figured it out."  Rev turns to look at me. I can see in her face she just thought of something. “It isn’t air born right?” she says slowly.  “No it is not.” West says as he looks back at the bodies. Rev takes a deep breath. “How then? How did they disrepute it?” Rev asks. I just start walking I cannot be this close to those bodies any longer. “They put it in their drinking water and food.” West follows me. Rev still standing there. “Oh, that’s genius and cruel all at the same time.” She starts to follow me to. I just keep walking. We walk for miles until the grass is green again. In the distance I hear children playing. I hear laughing and singing but I still don’t see anyone. West grabs me. “Walk a little slower. We don’t know what is waiting for us up there.” I turn to look at him.  He seems to care what happens to me. It is throwing me off. “Wooohooo, I know you don’t think you’re a part of the team.” Rev says as she laughs. I see the castle from last time in the distance. “Look we are close. This is where we came last time.” I point at the castle. “Okay lets go see this future self that you guy say is doing all of this.” West says as he walks ahead of me.

Series Wednesday: Timetopia Page 55

I am walking down the hall way tapping on the walls. I saw the wall open to let him out. There has to be a way in. Looking at the walls I am not even sure of what I saw anymore. “He is up!” Rev yells I run back down the hall way to her.  Rev starts to kick him. “Tell us where you hid the orb!” He laughs as she kicks him. “Is that all you got?” he asks Rev. “Wow could you be any more mellow dramatic. This is no scene in a movie. I am not afraid to kill you even if it isn’t easy. You don’t know this about me but I am a very hard worker.” Rev walks over to her back pack and pulls out knives. West laughs even louder.  I start thinking since he isn't with the orb maybe my orb can find it. "Wait, let me try something first. Before you start whatever it is you’re going to start doing to him." I say to Rev. She looks down at West and back at me. "Fine if you must. Try whatever it is you think will work." I smile at her. I pull out the orb from my pocket. I focus on the lost orb. I can hear a beeping coming from down the hall way. "How do you have an orb?" West says to me. "Wouldn't you like to know?" Rev says to him. "It’s my mother’s" I tell him. I follow the sound to a piece of the wall. I close my eyes and focus on the orb in my hand. I just keep thinking how I need a door. I hear something open like a door but heavier. I open my eyes and the wall has opened. I walk into the dark room and grab the orb which is lit up. I walk back over to Rev and West. Rev sits him up. "May I ask how and why?" West asks. "No you may not." Rev says. I look at her. "Yes you can" I tell him. "Why do you want the orb? Who is your mom?" I look at him as I sit in front of him. "I am collecting the orbs, because you will abuse the power you are given with them. In the future you enslave Timetopia and I can't allow that to happen." After I'm done talking his face looks the same as Lilly's did. He looks confused and shocked. "Kora is your mother isn't she?" Is his only response. "Yes she is." He puts his head down. "I should have known you look just like her. Can you get my orb to light up without your mom's orb?" He asks me. I grab his orb and I try to get it to light up but nothing happens. "I can't. What was the point to that?" I ask him. "To see if you were my daughter. If nothing happen then it’s pretty clear that you are not mine." He says to me almost sounding sad. "Why would you even think I could be your daughter?" I ask seeing as I haven't given much thought to who my father could be.  "Kora is the wife that I told you about."  West says so gently. I look at Rev who has a shocked look on her face.
We haven't said anything for a while. We all just sit there. What do I say? "You said I am going to enslave Timetopia. What do you mean by that?" West finally breaking the silence. "Well you, Charles and Lilly turn yourselves into Gods. You make the people worship you." West laughs at what I just told him. "Not saying that I would do that. But Erick would never allow it," Is his response. "You kill him and Kora smarty pants. They try to stand in your guy’s way."  Rev says. He looks at Rev shaking his head no. "I would never kill Erick or Kora. This makes no sense to me. Who told you this?" West seems like he doesn't believe me. "I saw it for myself. Kora took me to the future to see it." West is shaking his head. "How could she take you to the future our orbs have limits." West is starting to sound angry.  "She stole Charles blood and unlocked her limits." I tell him. "Why would she do that?" I shrug. "She wanted to see the future I suppose." West Laughs at me. He starts to try to stand.  Rev kicks his legs down. "Where do you think you’re going?" He looks up at Rev. “To the future. There is no way I have done the things you are accusing me of. All you have to do is take me to the future to see it for myself. If your right I will hand you over my orb with no complaints.” Rev looks at me and looks back at him. “For the smart people who created a time machine you all are very stupid. We have the orb we don’t need your help. So this is where we would say back home you have no legs to stand on.” Rev says. He smiles. “I have a special lock on my orb. Not just blood will unlock it. But go ahead and try if you don’t believe me.”  I look at Rev I believe him but I know she probably doesn’t. She shrugs and then slices his arm with her knife. “Okay then I will try. Thank you.” She says as she scoops up his blood with the knife.  She puts it on the orb. I hold it with my orb and nothing happens. He wasn't lying. "It’s not working." I tell Rev. "Okay so maybe you’re not as big of a liar as you seem. Good for you." She says to him as she smiles. "I have no reason to lie. I just want to see the future. I want to see what you’re telling me. I know myself I would never become a dictator." I look at Rev. "No one said dictator." She tells him. He shrugs. "So are we going to the future then?"  I ask.  Rev nods yes. West gets to his feet. "Well what are we waiting for? Let’s see this horrendous future of mine."  I put his orb in Revs back pack. I hold mine and think of the future.

Series Wednesday: Timetopia Page 54

Rev looks behind the table. " Darn I missed. Well that unfortunate, we were having such a good dinner too." I think Rev is telling a joke but I am never sure. "What do we do now?" I asked.  "Stay close I will get that orb! We are just going to have to work fast.  But make sure you do not get caught in the cross fire." Rev says. I nod yes. The power goes off, Rev looks around. "Follow me but be ready to hide if you have to okay?" Rev says as she starts walking. "Okay." Follow her. We walk through the kitchen with no one in it. We find ourselves in a hall way. Once again this hall way has no doors. I follow closely behind Rev.  The lights flash back on and off. I look up, I hear the wall move and West comes out. He smacks the shot gun out of Rev's hand. He tries to grab Rev and she slips right through his arms. "Hide!" she yells at me.  But I have nowhere to run. I look down this hall way of no doors. West came out of the walls somehow. Rev kicks West right in the face and knocks him down. She laughs. "Men always think they can take on the little girl and get knocked on their ass." Rev says to West who gets up off the floor. "Maybe men from your time. It’s only because you cheat not letting them know you a mortified human." What did West just say??? I stop looking for somewhere to hide and look back. Rev pulls West down to the floor and flips him on his back. "I am not like you. Don't be mad that an ordinary girl is whooping your ass." Rev says as she gets to her feet. West sits up. "Your right you are not like me. You are like the first generation of modified. I am after generations of perfecting it." West says to Rev. Rev's face looks confused. "If your perfection then our world has gotten a lot worse in the future then I thought. Plus like I told you I am not a mortified anything just a normal old orphan."  Rev says to West. He starts to get up. He looks back at me and then back to Rev. "You really have no idea who you are do you. Think about it have you ever broke a bone? Wonder why? I can tell you. Your bones are thicker than a normal old orphan. You know how I know all of this. My hits should have broken your bones but they didn't. Plus look at Ava's face if you think I am lying. She clearly knows." Rev looks at me now along with West.  I feel so uncomfortable. I look Rev right in the eye. "Ava do you know what he is talking about?" She asks so gently. I nod yes. "Ava it’s okay." She says to me. West eyes are locked on me. Rev is pulling something out of her backpack and shoves it into West neck. He starts to shake and falls to the ground. Rev knocked him out.

"What did you do to him?" I ask her as we stand over him. "I gave him enough electrical current to knock out the power of a small city block." She laughs   "Couldn't that kill him?"  I ask her. "I mean it could but it won’t. I was looking through all those papers Kora gave us. The people who made him use to test on the kids to see how much they could endure. So I knew it wouldn't kill him based on that."  Rev say as she grabs a metal rope to tie him up with out of her back pack. "Are you mad at me for not telling you that you were tested on when you were an embryo?" I ask her. She finishes tying up West. "No I'm not mad. Just a little curious as to why you didn't tell me. Or better yet how did you find out about it?" Rev sits on West unconscious body. "Kora found out. She wanted to find your real parents. It was going to be a gift to you for helping her out. She found your mom. That when she found out she had died in a fire where they thought you had passed too.  Someone left you on that bus to give you a chance at life."  Kora told this so much better. I am not sure why she left this to me.   "So I am a test tube baby. Great anything else you want to tell me?" Rev says well laughing. I think she is joking. "All the other babies died. Only you and a set of twins lived. So you have older siblings. But that is pretty much it. That's all I know." I just blurt it all out. Rev's face looks like she is in shock. "I have siblings. Great! Wait if they thought I was dead where are they at?" I look at her. “Your government has them. Not that I am sure what that even means. I’m sorry we can ask Kora together if you would like.” I look at West who is still unconscious. “I don’t think I am the type to need anyone to hold my hand but thanks for the offer.” I didn’t think she would take my offer either. “What about him?” I point at West. “We get the orb and draw some blood. Do that thing where you slap them together and we’ll be on our way.”  Rev says it like everything is that simple. “Okay. So where is the orb?” I ask her. She reaches into West’s pocket. Her face gets sharp. I know that look she didn’t find what she wanted. “Not in there?” I ask. She flips him over and looks through all of his other pockets. “He must have hid it when he ran.” I look back down the hall way with no doors. He could have hid it anywhere. “Where do we start?” I ask Rev and look back at her. She walks next to me and looks at the hall way. “Ummmm. I guess we wake him up and make him tell us?” I look at her. “Make him how?” I ask her. She smiles, “the good old fashion way.  Massive amounts of pain.” I don’t think I like this plan.

Series Wednesday: Timetopia page 53

We are in the house, it’s completely empty. It’s scary how silent the hallways are. "Where is everyone?" I ask Rev. "I would really like to know the same thing. Just be sure to stay close behind me." Rev starts heading down the hall way. I do as she says and stay close. We walk down the long hallway. There appears to be no doors or rooms on this floor. We head up the stairs to the main level. There is West just standing there waiting. "Welcome! I have been waiting for you." He says sounding almost happy. He motions to the table in the next room with food on it. "Are you hungry?" He asks. "I could eat." Rev says as she walks over. She still has her gun in her hand. "How did you know we were coming?" I ask, still standing in the same spot. I felt that without an answer, I could not move. "I saw you on the screens and you have been gone for some time. I figured you appeared to see me. So I had my staff whip some food up so we could talk about the reason your here."  He smiles again at me. I don't like his smile, he mouth does not curve up like most people smiles but instead his smile goes straight across like it is fake.  I look at Rev and she is already at the table sniffing the food.

"Do you want a crab cake?" West asks Rev and she smiles. "Yes, I would love a crab cake." She takes one and starts eating her mount of food on her plate. "Why are you being so nice to us?" I can't help but blurt out. "Because I know whatever reason you’re here has little to nothing to do with me. Rev is Charles’ ex-wife and you, well... I'm not sure why you are here yet or who that effects." West says as he eats his piece of steak. "You’re right, us being here really doesn't have much to do with you. Also, I am Charles’ wife, but only because killing my mother and betraying me did not get us a divorce. It just makes him a horrible person."  Rev's words are so sweetly said but so unkind. I might never know how she does that.   "Right, that makes sense. I was married once, I know what it is to be betrayed by the one you love. It also hurts when you still love them." He seems hurt. I have never heard about West having a wife. I am very shocked. "Do you mind if I ask what happened? Just for the simple fact that I have spent my whole life going to school learning all about The Five's lives and never once have I heard anything about you being married." I don't mean to be rude, I just want to know why there is nothing in the history books about him being married. "Well that’s because I wrote your history books and I felt it best to leave her out. But if you insist on hearing the story… She was a brilliant scientist and that's how we met. We met inside the camps, after my country had been destroyed. I fell for her instantly. We got married within 14 days of knowing each other. That was my first mistake. I should’ve gotten to know her better, but we were young and in love with plans to fix the world." He stops talking and takes a deep breath. I wonder if she’s dead or if they just erased her when they changed the time line. "Well what did she do to betray you?" Rev asks. "She slept with a teammate. When I asked her why, her response..." He stops again. "Her response was what?! Do not half tell a story I hate that!" Rev yells at him. "She said she slept with him to save the future. What a line right." West seems so sad still. "Try having your husband kill your mom and leave you to rot in a CIA black hole." Rev says back to him. "I am sorry she hurt you."  I say to try and be kind. West doesn't seem like a bad guy. He isn't what I thought he was going to be.  I look at Rev wondering if she is thinking the same thing but with her it’s hard to tell what she is really thinking. "So why don't you tell me why you two are really here." West says. I look at Rev and she nods her head at me. I see her gun still in her hand. "We are here for your orb." I say and look at his face. He looks surprised. "Why would you want my orb? It wouldn't work for you. Plus, how do you even know about it?"  He asks. "Well if it won’t work for us why can’t we see it?" Rev says. He looks at her for a second. West stands up and pulls it out of his pocket. "If you want it, come get it." He says to Rev. Rev smiles at him and then I hear the pop sound. I look up at West to see that Rev shot him in the leg.  "That was your warning. Give us the orb."  Rev says, pointing the gun at his head. West starts laughing and looks down at his leg.  He dusts the bullet off his leg like it was nothing more than a bug biting him. "You see… my bones are 5 times thicker than your average person. So that was not the smartest idea." West says.  Rev smiles as she reaches behind her head into her backpack. She pulls out a sawed-off shot gun as she calls it. "Let’s test how bullet proof you really are." She smiles. West flips the table at us and Rev shoots. The sound is unbearable.  I hit the floor and cover my ears.
