      I look at everyone on the floor. I can feel my nose bleeding and I can hear Kara laughing. “Oh little girl, foolish little girl. You think after everything you have learned about the truth, really you think you know anything about the Orbs or us for that matter? Let me tell you, you really don’t.” She is laughing as she gets up and dusts herself off. “Ava are you okay?” I start to stand up and nod to Rev to let her know I am okay. “What don’t I know?” I yell at Kara. “Using the Orb’s full potential will kill you. You are not as modified as we are. There is a big part of the story that no one knows, the reason that they travel from year to year.”  Kara stops and her Orb goes to her hand. I close my eyes and focus on trying to knock her over again. Another pulse comes out of my Orb but I feel even weaker. “Ava stop!” Kora yells as she gets knocked over. I look back to see Rev on the floor as well. “You see there is a huge part of the story that the Five left out and you know what, I think its story time.” Kara yells from the ground. “You see the Orbs were not just linked to use by DNA they also feed off our energy to work. We knew when we made them that no one who was not a part of the world we left behind would not be able to handle it. Let me give you a little history lesson. You know how all of our countries were bombed and we were all sent to encampments, that is where we were put into the team that made the time machine. But what no one knows is it took us 77 years to make it. They didn’t just have us working for them. They tested on us as well. They made us stop aging, well aging the way you do. We also regenerate much faster than you. So just keep fighting me, go ahead I dare you! I will just out wait you. You will die powering it, unlike mine. I put a piece of mine in me and let’s just say as I power it, it powers me.” I can’t win, I think this is the moment I realized it.

                Rev is back on her feet behind me. I can’t keep the pulses coming or I will die. I look back at Rev hoping she will give me a sign of what to do. “Stop pulsing.” Rev shouts. “How else am I supposed to keep her down?” I ask. “I got this.” Rev says as she starts shooting. She shoots Kara right in the shoulder. Kara laughs as she throws a pulse out of her Orb at us. “This has been fun but I have grown tired of you.” I am not sure which one of us she is talking to. Kara just disappears in front of us. I try to get on my feet but I feel too weak to stand. Kora is running over to me. “I will help you.” Kora is still here but why? Why would Kara Leave without her. “Where did she go?” I yell to Rev. “I don’t know.” Rev has her gun up. I look at Kora as she helps me up. Rev scream, I look over to her and she is getting pulled through a hole. It is so fast I almost missed it. “NO Rev!”  I scream as I try to run over to where she just was. “No Ava wait.” Kora says as she holds me back. “Please… you can’t let her hurt Rev.” I can feel the tears falling down my check as each word struggles to get out. “Ava I can’t promise you that she isn’t already dead. I can only promise to protect us.”  She loses her embrace on me to look me in the eyes before sticking her hand out. I think she wants the Orb. I don’t believe her so I hold on to the Orb tighter. I feel another pulse push me over. “You see if you were on our side, I could teach you how to use it properly. But since you want to deny your family; well not to be too old testament you will have to parish.”  Kara says as she stands in front of me. The pulse only knocked me over, Kora is still standing. This is what she must have meant about learning to use the Orb properly. “Stop it Kara! She is my daughter!” Kora yells, she rips the Orb out of my hand. She sends a pulse out toward Kara, knocking her to the ground. “Kora don’t do this!” Kara screams. “She is my baby. I will not give her up again.” Kora screams at Kara.  “You think I would give her up! She is part of you and I am trying to protect her! Kora I have given everything in this life to reassure your safety. I even let everyone think I was the bad guy who blew up those cities because the truth is much more dangerous. I wish you could remember so you would understand.” Kara is crying as she screams at Kora. I don’t understand anything that Kara is saying and by the looks of Kora face she doesn’t either.  “You really think they didn’t know what we were creating. You think we got away??? Kora you’re smarter than that. Think about it, do you even remember the day we went back in time??” Kara yells at a confused Kora. “I don’t remember a lot of thing because you mess with my mind!” Kora screams. I stand up next to Kora. “I didn’t mess with anything I protected you. We couldn’t beat them, so I joined them.” Kara isn’t yelling anymore. Kora turn to me. “I know some day I will find you again. I know now what’s going on. I have to fix things but I can’t with you here. Find Rev and one day once I have fixed things I’ll find you.” She whispers in my ear, as I feel her open a hole behind me. She starts to push me in; I see the necklace around her neck and rip it off of her. “Not if I find you first” I yell as she shoves me through the hole. I hit something hard. I can hardly breathe there is something wrong with the air. I open my eye to see more people then I have ever seen in my life. But I can’t breathe. “AVA!” I hear from the side of me. It’s Rev with something in her hand. “Here breathe in this it will help.” She says as she sticks something in my mouth that lets out a liquid that coats my throat. I can breathe a little better now. “Your body isn’t use to the pollution. So you have what we call asthma.” Rev says as she helps me up. “Where are we?” I ask her as all of the sounds, people and lights are drowning my senses all at once. “This is Time Square, we are in New York. I got here a week ago and since they dropped me here I knew this is where you would be coming through so I have been waiting for you. There is also one more thing.” Rev looks behind her. I look and there is James. “James is here?” I ask her even though I can see him. I am a little in shock to see him here. “Yes they dropped him here 4 years ago. He was here when I came out. He has done pretty well for himself but we can talk about that later. What happened to Timetopia?” Rev asks as I look around. “I am not sure. But I grabbed Kora’s zip thing.” I showed it to Rev. “So what does this mean?” She asks me. “It means we are going to make our own Orb and get back there.” Rev smiles at me.

                 “Ava you need to open your eyes.” I can hear Rev’s voice. "I swear if she dies I will kill you!" I hear Rev screaming. "Her pulse is back to normal. Ava sweetie I need you to open your eyes."  I hear Kora's voice. I open my eyes and see Kara. "You might not have always been a monster but you let them turn you into something much worse." I tell her. "See she is fine so why don't you put the gun away before I kill you."  Kara still talks like she is in charge. I sit up to see Kora right next to me and Rev pointing a gun at Kara. Rev looks at me. "Talk to me." she says to me. "I was stuck in one of her memories." Kara laughs. "It is a failsafe just in case my Orb ever got broken into. It’s like a spider’s web."  I definitely felt like I was stuck in something. I start to get up on my feet. "Sweetie you might not want to do that." Kora says. Kara pulls out her Orb and a laser light comes out, Rev drops to the floor. Kora pulls me off the floor to the side of the room. “Rev!” I see her look at me and wink. She starts shooting at Kara as Kara start pointing the laser at Rev. The laser cuts threw everything it touches. I try to push Kora out of the way to get to Rev. “Stop fighting me Ava I am trying to protect you.” Kora tells me. “Let me go!” I yell at her. I can hear the laser cutting through the sofa. I look at Rev hiding down the hall way peaking her head out to shoot. “Trust me Ava she has a plan for all of us. You need to stop fighting. Let this happen.” Kora says to me. I can’t believe she would even say that to me. “Your brain washed what do you know!”  I yell at her as I slam her head into the wall to get her out of my way. She hits the floor and blood is coming out of her forehead. I run to the kitchen to sneak out the window so I can run around the house to the other side to help Rev.

                I sneak into my bed room window. I look at my closet opened by a completely different me, even just this morning. I can’t stop to think about that or if it is time travel right now I need to get to Rev. I open my room and there is Rev down the hallway. “Show her the light.” I scream at Rev, She laughs as she pulls a bomb out of her backpack. She throws it at Kara and starts running down the hall way to me. I shut the door behind her and we jump out the window. “Come on.” Rev yell at me as we start running down the street. I hear my house explode behind me. “Stop!” I hear from behind us. We keep running and don’t stop. All of the sudden I hear a ringing and I’m on the floor. There is smoke all around us. Rev stands up pulling her gun out aiming it at Kara who is walking toward us.  I see all my neighbors coming out of their houses. “Rev don’t shoot!  Look around.” I scream as I slowly try to get up but I can’t seem to stop spinning. I can feel an arm wraps around me. “Come on,” James says as he helps me up. “We have to help Rev.” I tell James. I look ahead at Rev. “Everyone go back inside your houses” Rev says. “They will not listen to you but me on the other hand.” Kara says as she laughs. “Hello Everyone I need your help catching this very bad person.” After Kara speaks it is very clearly has never spent time in Timetopia, we do not get evolved in anyone else’s business that is rude. “Kora what is happening?” One of the neighbors asks. They think she is Kora. “Timetopians this is not Kora. Timetopia has been invaded! Run into your safe place!” I scream out. Everyone looks confused. “I am your leader and you should do what I say... Now kill this girl!” she points at Rev. “That’s not Kora!” The people start yelling as they start to run back to their houses.  “Well that didn’t work as planned. Time for some rain,” Kara says as her Orb goes into the air and splits in half. The Orbs start to rain on the people, the people start to scream. The rain is turning them into ashes. I look at them as they melt away. How could she do such a thing? She puts her hand out and her Orb comes back together. “Well now that there are no more distractions.”  Kara says as she starts to head toward Rev.  James runs to block Rev. Kara laughs as she starts to swing her Orb in a circle. It starts to suck James in. “NO!” Rev says as she tries to hold on to him. “I love you REV!” James says as he pushes Rev back. The hole sucks him in. “Where is he?” Rev asks. “Somewhere you are sure to follow. Just wait and see.” Kara says. If her Orb can do that I wonder what mine can do. “Rev, ORB!” I yell she pull it out of her pocket and throws it to me. Kara laughs “And what do you think you’re going to do with that?” I smile at her. As a pulse comes out of the Orb knocking her off her feet.

                I grab the knife and stab him in the throat. The blood just comes pouring out of him. The girl who screamed was helping me. So I walk over to her and let her out. "Where are the rest?" I ask her. "In their rooms, they have already picked for the night we are the unchosen." I look at the rooms. I can’t do this alone. "Do you think the other girls will help?" She smiles at me. "Yes they will help." She goes and taps on each door and the girls inside crack the door open. "Move" I tell them and walk in the room. I see the teachers sleeping safely in their bed. So I cut each of their throats out. They didn't stand a chance I was too fast. I found the room of the teacher who had been changing Kora's answers. "There is no way in. He doesn't let any girl spend the night in there." The girl tells me. I take off my clothes and tell her to stand back. I part my hair like Kora's. I start to knock on his door. He cracks it open. I say in the most timid voice I can muster. "Your request has been approved," I tell him. He gets a sick smile on his face and he opens the door. I stab him in the leg first. He drops to the floor screaming I know it is only a matter of time before the guards come. The rest of the girls have gotten the other girls off the walls and put clothes on. "Help me." I yell as I start to drag him to the wall. The girls all help as he tries to fight us but all of us working together get him strapped to the wall. "You girls should go before they catch you." I tell the girls. They all run off after thanking me and now it is just me and him. "She is just a little girl. Admit you changed her answers on her test to make her look dumb," I scream at him. I know the cameras are recording. "No that's not true" he says so I slice him in the stomach. "Liars have to pay for their lies." I tell him. He whimpers but I keep cutting him. I am now covered in his blood. "Admit the truth and I’ll stop." He takes a deep breath. "So I changed her answers it doesn't matter, you will get hung for this. Then who will protect her tell me that. Your foolish, I’m not the only one with a bid on her." I look him in the eyes as I sliced his neck open. I feel a sharp pain in my back and see the guard behind me shocking me. I wake up to find myself in a room. This was the day I started my training in how to be a more efficient killer. I made a deal to keep Kora safe by taking these classes. I would go to one during the day and one at night. They would teach me how to withstand torture of all sorts.

                "Get out!" I see Kara in front of me but everything around us is back. I don't know what is happening but there is a teenage Kara standing over me. "How did you get in here??" She asks me. "I am not sure. I think you were showing me your memories and as I was living them I ended up here with you. How old are you?" I ask her. "I'm 17. How did you get into my Orb?" She asks me. How would 17 year old Kara know about the Orb? I know I can't trust adult Kara but can I trust this Kara and where am I? "Where are we?" I ask her. "The hole this is where they put me when I killed the guard who tried to go into Kora's room one night." I look around this doesn’t seem like a hole. I am just laying here or standing here I am not really sure. I am just here with her. “How do you get out of here?” I ask her. “They pull me out. Who are you?” Kara asks me. “I am Kora daughter.” I tell her. She starts shaking her head. “NO! You must get out!” She starts screaming so loud it’s ringing in my ears.  I feel like my ear drums are going to burst. I put my hands over my ears. “STOP!!!” I start to scream back. I try to close my eyes to try to stop the sound. It finally stops and I open my eyes and she is gone it is just me in this hole alone. I don’t know if this was her I sit here for what feels like days at first. She hasn’t come back and I can’t walk or move I am just here. I wish more than anything I could figure out what this place is. I miss Rev and fear I will never see her again. There has to be a way out. What if I call for the Orb, I am guessing her Orb is what got me here. I just think of my Orb and its light. I just focus on its light and soon the darkness of this hole starts to light up.  I don’t see anything past the bright light. What if I was wrong and the light I am calling for is really going to take me to a place where I never see my dad or Rev again. I wonder if my mom is on the other side of the light. I can feel it growing and getting closer only one way to find out. “That’s them pulling us out of this hole.” I hear Kara and now she is next to me. “I don’t believe you’re Kora’s daughter but I will warn you. If they are pulling you out it is not good.” 

Series Wednesday : Timetopia Page 77

     Kara and Kora are standing in their electrical cage. Kora is sitting on the floor with her arms wrapped around her knees. "So this is your big plan. To lock us away while you get your dad out?" I look at Kara. "Unlike you I don't have some giant plan. I am just trying to protect him from you." I respond. "Not bad I didn't see this coming that's for sure. So what are you going to do now?" Kara says as she stands back from the ends of the cage. "We are going to kill you, is that not obvious?" Rev says as she steps toward the cage. Kara starts to laugh. "Come and get it, I dare you. You can't kill me little girl."  Rev seems enraged by Kara comment. “Then you don’t know me very well.” Rev responds. “Sweet child I know everything about you. I am the one who researched you. I am the one who found your hole and pulled you out.” Kara says as she walks over to the bars of the cage. She starts to hold onto the bars of the cage, she doesn't break eye contact with Rev but you can see the electricity running through her body.  She holds on as long as she can before she passed out. "Is she dead?" I ask Rev. "She might be her crazy ass probably stopped her own heart." Rev says so calmly. Kora starts screaming. "NO... Kara Please wake up." She starts to pump her chest. I have never seen anyone react this way before. Although before Rev got here I never really seen death. "You can’t let her die! She has bombs in place!" Kora screams at us. "WHAT?" I ask. "We didn't kill her, the psycho killed herself!" Rev yells back at Kora. "It doesn’t matter. She has bombs all around this house!" Kora says frantically. "Ava Check if that's true with your Orb." Rev says as she pulled a remote out of her pocket. I pulled out my Orb to scan for bombs. My Orb shows me there is a total of 50 bombs with in a 10 mile radius. "She isn't lying."  I tell Rev. "Fine give me the Orb and I’ll let you in to help her." I hand the Orb to Rev. "This way they can't make you use the Orb, since I can't use it this seem like the best idea. Grab my backpack I have a shot in there full of adrenaline. Just stab her in the heart. Okay?" Rev says things like they are not a big deal but I feel like stabbing someone in the heart is a huge deal. I just nod yes and grab the shot from her backpack. Rev pushes a button on her remote and the electricity goes out on the cage. I am able to slide through the bars to Kara and Kora. "Stand back," I tell Kora who is crying like crazy. I stab Kara in the chest with the shot and she takes a breath. "Finally" She says and I feel something smack my head hard.

                I open my eyes to see my baby Kora sleeping in front of me. I reach over to hug her before I close my eyes again. I open them to see Kora laughing. We are playing on a playground on top of a building. I see men coming up to us. "Kora and Kara you are now owned by the state and have to come with us." I feel fear but I know it is my job to protect Kora. "Run Kora!" I yell at her. She hops off the playground and run toward the end of the building, I am fast behind her. "Kara I am scared!" She screams as she stands at the edge. "Jump Kora!" I yell as I grab her hand and we jump across the building. We run as far and as fast as we can but the men were waiting for us at the end of the ladder. They grab us and tell us not to fight. I knew this meant we would never see any of our family again. I somehow knew this meant at the age of 5 we are on our own. The men stuck us in cages but at least we are next to each other. I go to sleep on the cold floor. I open my eye and I am now in my own room with a bed. Kora and I get ready for class. She got to many answers wrong on her test again. "I swear I put the right answers someone changed them." Kora tells me in tears knowing that if she kept getting wrong answers she would be sent with the men to earn her keep. I stay in class after the next test and look at her answer sheet. She has all the right answers but somehow the next day in class her answers were changed. I look up to see our teacher licking his thin lips at her. I know what’s happening he is trying to buy her. What do I do I am only 11 years old. I know a ways out of my room that I haven't tried. I take some foil from the kitchen when I am on dinner shift. I wrap a fork I stole in foil and shove it in my doors lock, it shocks me. So when it’s time for them to lock us in at night my door looked like it locked but didn't. I open my door and no alarm. I walk out of my room and slide close to the walls so the cameras won't see me. I make it all the way to the teachers sleeping rooms. I see girls who use to be in our class naked and ties up to the walls. This is what I don't want to happen to Kora. I wasn't sure what I was going to do when I got here and being here now seeing them. I know that I have to kill him. I slowly open the door and walk into the open area and the girls on the wall see me. I put my finger over my lips for them to be quiet. They just stand there and cry. One screams at me "Behind you!" I have a fork in my hand but I see a knife on the table next to me. The guard tries to grab me but I slip through his arms.

Series Wednesday: Timetopia Page 76

                I open my eyes and there is my dad standing infront of me. “What do you mean you need to get me out of here?” It worked!!! YES! Okay think Rev has to be here be now if she wasn’t found or killed. If Rev is here she would have a plan. I start to look around the room to see if anything looks different, to see if Rev left me a clue to what she planned. I don’t see anything really different except the wood beam in our ceiling look freshly painted. What if I was wrong and Kara found Rev and killed her. “I just need to get you some where safe before Kara gets here.” My dad looks at me. “Who is Kara?” I see the whole open from the side of my eye. “I am silly.” She says with a smile.  I push my dad behind me like it would do anything. Kara walks over to Kora. “Sister.” They both say as they hug. “Sister please she is my daughter.” Kara cores Kora face. “Do you think I would hurt your daughter? Do you really think that of me sister? Have you been listening to the lies they have told you and mistaken them for truth?” Kara is being so sweet to Kora even I am starting to wonder if she would hurt me. “I would hope not Kara. But you killed her mother what am I to think?”  Kora explains. “You are her mother! That woman was nothing more than a caregiver but her services were no longer needed. So I terminated her contract. She doesn’t need those distractions any way she needs to be with us her blood.” There is no way I will ever be on her side. I look down and see a prefect round red stain on our rug, I don't ever remember seeing that stain before plus if we make stains we are suppose to replace the rug its the law. I lean back to my dad. "Where did that stain come from?" I whisper to him.  "I am not sure, But I have a feeling like Kora won't be to mad at us." I look back at my dad because that isn't to important right now. I have a feeling like this is Rev's doing. She had to do something that wouldn't be noticeable. I start to look around for a clue of what I am suppose to do with the stain. I look at the newly painted beams on the ceiling and  it seems as if the center of the ceiling matches with the stain. This has to mean something.

                I have to get Kora and Kara to the stain I just know it. I walk in front of the stain. "Mom." I say to Kora, her eyes light up and she instantly walks over to me. "What's wrong?" She asks me. "I don't want her hurting my dad. She already killed my other mom and my Charles. I just want to ensure my dad safety." Kara walks over to me and Kora, she stands right next to Kora. I know this is my catch I slowly walk back over to my dad. “Ava there is no need to be like that. I won’t hurt him, I have no reason to.”  Kara says. I hear a loud sound like lightening almost. I feel a warmth come down from the ceiling. My dad grabs me, pulling me to the ground. “Ava!” I hear Rev’s voice. “dad let me up.” I yell for my dad to get off me. I can barely look at the cage Kara and Kora are in its so bright.  Rev runs up to me and hugs me. "One a electrifying cage please."  Rev says with a smile on her face. "We  need to get my dad out of here." I tell her, it is my only concern at the moment. "Of course." Rev says as she motions to James. "James, it's good to see you." I tell him as I hug him. James does seem to hug me back he just stand there. “It is nice to meet you.” James says as I let go. I just realize it’s a few months from now that we meet James. This time travel thing has got me all turned around. “Right I haven’t met you yet. I’m sorry.” I tell James as I stand back. “I hear great things about you.” James says. “Enough with the pleasantries, James take her dad and get out of here.” Rev says to James, I turn to my dad and hug him. “You have to go with him now. I promise everything will be okay, I love you very much.” I can feel the tears running down my face. I just know this will be the last time I see my father but at least he is still alive.  I don’t want to let him. “It’s okay Ava I know it’s for the best. I knew since the day she brought you to us that you were meant for some much more.” My father still speaks as if this is all a part of some great plan for me. If only he knew that there is no bigger or greater plan, that everything I have been through was all because my blood mothers twin sister is a brain washing killer. I let my dad go and step back. “I will do my best to always make you proud.”  James pulls my dad by the arm. I smile at my dad trying to give him a sense everything will be okay even though I have no idea if that is true. My dad and James take off running out the front door. I stand there and watch them leave. “James will take care of him you know that.” I nod in agreement. “How did you get James to help you?” Rev laughs. “After I got him to stop shooting at me. We have a long conversation well he was tied up for a few days. It took him a bit of convincing.” I have no doubt that james was not the easiest to convince but now it is time to deal with Kara.

I see her hanging from the ceiling.  I want to drop to the floor but then it crosses my mind that my dad was here with her. I start to run through the house looking for my dad but I don’t find him.  “Ava I found something!” I am holding back throw up as I run back through the living room past my mom. Rev hands me a piece of paper. “Read this while I get her down.” Rev says as she grabs her knives to cut her down. I hear my mom’s body drop to the floor but I try to contain my tears long enough for me to read this paper. I open the folded up paper and start to read it, “Hi niece, you have something I want and I have something you want. So let’s stop playing games. Give me the Orb and I’ll give you your dad. I love you! See you soon.”  I am so anger, I want to hurt her. I turn around to my mother's lifeless body and drop to my knees to scope her up in my arms. I can no longer hold back the tears. I start to cry uncontrollably. I started this whole journey to get my mom back and Kara killed her in the end. Kara wants the Orb and Kora, she is using my dad as leverage to get it. I kiss my mom’s forehead. "I am sorry mom for what I have to do. I know you wished so much more for me." I whisper in to my mom's ear.  Rev lays a blanket over my mom as I get up. "What are you going to do?" Rev asks me. "I am going to take a page from your book." I tell Rev as I start to head back to Kora's.

                All I can think about it my mom hanging from the ceiling, her normally rosy cheeks pale. I walk into Kora's bedroom and pull her by the hair out of bed. I pull her all the way to the living room. "What the hell is going on?" She asks me as I walk over to my back pack and grab my gun and point it at her. "Scream for Kara!" I yell at her. "Ava breath." I hear Rev say from behind me. "Scream for Kara to save you or I will kill you with no regard the same way she killed my mother!" Kora is shaking her head at me but she isn't screaming. "Ava, Kara has your dad and Kara is the one who did this. You don't want to hurt Kora you’re just in pain. Trust me pain is a tricky thing, it makes you feel like you're doing the right thing by inflicting pain on someone else but it's wrong." I look at Rev she sticks her hand out to me to give her my gun. I want my dad back safe but I want Kara to feel the pain I am feeling right now. I start to wonder if this is how wars are started. I hand the gun to Rev and she pulls me in and hugs me. "We will get your dad back and make Kara pay for this But Kora is still your blood mom. Some day that might mean something to you." Rev whispers in my ear. I don't think there will be a day when her and I sharing the same blood will mean anything to me. She will never be my mom. "How do we get Kara to come here if we don't get Kora to call for her?" I ask Rev. "She isn't far; she is just waiting for something." I don't know how Rev knows any of this. "How do you know?"   Rev shakes her head. "Trust me she is watching us from not far away that how people like this work." People like what?? I am so confused on how I feel let alone what to do. I walk over to my back pack and grab the Orb out and think about Kara. I am hoping that the Orb will help me find her. I see her face pop out of the Orb in a beam of light. "You figured out how to use hologram calling. Congratulations." Kara says to me.  I look back at Rev not fully understanding what Kara is talking about. "Where is my dad?" Is all I can say to Kara, she laughs and shrugs. "He is in a safe place and you will get him back once I have the Orb and Kora.” I am not sure why she thinks I would stop her from taking Kora. "Kora is right here and waiting for you. As for the Orb just hand over my dad and I’ll give it to you. I won't stand in your way I am a good Timetopian and I will do as I am told." I hear the words coming out of my mouth and for the first time I know what it is to lie.  There is no way I am giving her my Orb. "Perfect I was hoping that you would feel that way. If you want to find your dad just go home to the day this all began but take Kora with you and I'll be seeing you soon." Kara waves goodbye to me and the beam of light turns off.  Kora is standing up behind me. "I won't let her hurt your dad Ava. You’re my daughter I am sorry I didn't see any of this coming but now that I do I’ll protect you. Kara isn't evil or bad she is just completely goal orientated she can't see past whatever goal she has. I'll fix all of this I promise." Kora puts her hand on my shoulder like that is going to help.  "We will do what she says But know this Kara isn't the sister you remember in your Orb trust me." I push Kora hand off my shoulder and head to the room to get the rest of my stuff. "We are going to have to kill Kara." Rev says as she stands in the doorway. "I know that's what I was planning." I respond.

Series Wednesday: Timetopia Page 73

Kara killed Charles in front of me and is responsible for the horrific future. Kora has no idea what hand she had in making that future and now I don't know what is real anymore. I decide to get up out of my bed and start to walk to Kora's room where I will get answers. I throw her door open and she is just standing  there looking at me like she was waiting for me. "How could you not tell me Charles is my father!?" I ask Kora but I realize I am yelling, I didn't mean to but I am. "I am not sure why I didn't tell you. I guess I was a little ashamed at what I did." She sits in a chair in the corner of her room. "Ashamed that you slept with him so I could surpass the DNA fire walls?" I ask her and the look on her face was surprised. "No that's not why I slept with Charles. I cared about him and he was the only one there when Kara passed." I am not sure why but she seems to want to make me think she cared about Charles. "You told me I was a part of a plan! A plan to stop the big bad future from happening! KARA CREATES THAT FUTURE! So please stop pretending you cared for him and this all just happened and just tell me the truth. How did you come up with this plan?" I am yelling at her more passionately then I have ever yelled at anyone in my life. "Ava calm down and look at her."  Rev says as she grabs me. Kora is sitting in her chair completely still just like Erick did. "I don't remember how I came up with the plan. I was sleeping and I knew I had to go to the future to see all that Timetopia would become and when I saw the horror that it became I had to stop it. Then you were born and the plan was just in motion."  Kora says as she puts her head down like she is trying to remember what happened. "I think there is a reason she never gave us more detail. I think it was because she couldn't. I don't think this was her plan." Rev says behind me. I just stare as Kora start rubbing her hand.
                "I know how I came up with the plan. I am just a little jumbled up right now. “Kora says as she smashes a lamp into her dresser.  Rev and I nod our head as we start to back out of the room. "We are going to give you time to get some sleep I think we are a little bit jumbled up." I tell Kora to keep her calm. "Yes I need sleep that's where she comes to me."  I stop stepping back. "That's when who comes to you?" I ask Kora. "That's where Kara comes to me in my dreams. She helps me with all my hard choices." Kora starts to crawl into bed. "But Kara isn't dead." Rev says. "Don't be crazy of course she is dead. It's her angel that visits." Kora lies down and pulls her blankets over her. "Of course it is." I say as I put my hand over Rev's mouth, I can hear her trying to correct Kora. We turn and walk out of the room together. "So she is brain washed right?"  Rev asks me as I lock the door behind us to my room. "Yeah I am afraid so." I look at Rev knowing how bad this is. "Well this was kind of her plan. So I'm at a loss of what we are supposed to do now?"  Rev says as she does that thing where she throws her arms in the air. "Why hasn't Kara showed up here?" I ask Rev.  I am wondering why of all times she has decided to come now when we are here with Charles but why she has never come to the house.  "She is planning something big or maybe something she needs hasn't fallen into place yet." Rev is thinking. "What would she need?" I ask Rev. "You're asking me to think like a girl who is two crayons short of a full box. Who are we kidding that girl is more than just a few short." Rev says as we both start pacing. She had it made doing her test on people without any one interfering, until Kora brought Rev here but if Kora is brain washed then isn't that what Kara wanted?? My head hurts just thinking about all of this. "Is your head hurting?" I ask Rev. "Yup, I was just trying to wrap my head around how we got here and who's plan is this and why nothing and I mean nothing makes sense."  Rev lies on the floor. I sit against the door and wonder what could help us. "Hey did your parents go back to their own time?" Rev asks me. "No they are still here in this time. Why?" Rev sits up. "The only thing I would wait for before attacking is leverage." I don't understand what leverage has to do with anything. "I'm sorry I don't understand what you are talking about. Like a pulley system where you would need leverage to lift something?"  Rev jumps up to her feet. "No leverage over someone else. It is where you take something you need or want to ensure they are going to do what you want." Why would anyone do that? I know Rev is from a completely different time and place but the way she thinks scares me. "So you think she would hurt my parents?" I ask Rev as she pulls me off the floor. "Yes I do, "I instantly feel fear come over me and open the door and run out of the room, I keep running out of the house to the house my parents are staying in. It is the middle of the night and their lights are on. I feel the fear coursing through my veins. Rev walks up to the door and turns the knob she looks in not opening the door all the way. “Ava stay back there okay!?” I can hear it in her voice. I run to the door and push it open..

     I am dusting myself off and I see Rev still on the floor groaning. "Are you girls okay?" Kora asks. "Kara is a psycho but we are fine." Rev responds. "That's not funny Kara is dead." Kora says in such a hurt voice. "She said you knew she was alive." I explain to Kora. "There is no way Kara could be alive if that was true I would be dead. Kara would have taken her revenge on me. I helped them take her down after she did something she shouldn't of." I look at Kora wondering who is telling the truth. "You mean after she destroyed the world and killed billions. Why didn't you tell me it was her who did it?? Why did you make it sound like it was a choice all of you made?" Kora shakes her head. "She is my sister and my twin at that. I would never say anything bad about her. She is just so passionate. She often got a head of herself and hurt others without realizing it." Kora is defending her. "Kara is a psychopath who is going to die for killing Charles. Which by the way thanks for the heads up that he is your baby’s daddy."  Rev says as she stands there with a mean look on her face. "Kara killed Charles?? Why would she do that?"  Kora doesn't believe us, she isn't saying it but I can tell. "You don't believe us do you?" I ask her. She shakes her head. "I am just trying to wrap my brain around all of this." I am wondering if there is a way to show her what happened. The Orb starts lighting in my hand and I have the idea to put her hand on the Orb and show her my memories. I grab her hand and put it on the Orb and think of what just happened. I start to see it all over again, I am sitting in a dark room all of the sudden and I see a little girl. "Don't worry Kora I will take care of you. We don't need her." She hugs me and I feel safe. I am in the same dark room and a man comes in and I start to scream for help and he walks toward me taking his jacket off. A teenage Kara comes running in and stabs him with a knife in the neck and keeps stabbing him. "Come on Kora, we have to run." I can feel the tears pouring down my face as I get up and follow Kara. We are running through somewhere I have never seen. We run past girls in giant cages almost like rooms. Kara uses the man's necklace to get us out of building. We are running but all these lights are on us and the floor is so hard I just realize we have no shoes. People are not far behind us.
                "Ava!" I wake up on the floor next to Kora with Rev standing over me. "What did you do?" She asks me. "I started to show her my memories of what happened and somehow I started seeing hers of Kara." Rev nods her head. "Okay well that explains what Kora said right before she pushed you and the Orb away." I look at Rev waiting for her to tell me. "Stop looking at me like that you look creepy. She said No! Those are my memories and then she pulled away that’s when the Orb flash a light and knocked you both out. I don't think it liked her pulling away."  I stand up but I feel dizzy. "I don't think she knew Kara was alive. I think if she would have known she would be with her sister wherever she was." I tell Rev as I try to walk to the sofa to sit down but I fall to the floor. I feel so weak more so then when I have seen other people's memories, I look to see Kora still on the floor. I have so many questions but for now I need sleep. I open my eyes to see hot tea in front of me on the table and I sit up to drink some of it. I look around and it is night time, there are no lights on which makes me think everyone is asleep. So where did this tea come from? I put the tea down. "Ava are you okay?" I look over and there is Rev in the dark. "Did you put this tea here?" She turns on the lights. "Yeah Kora said the cup would keep it hot until you touched the cup. Some future technology I guess." I look at Rev not sure how to tell her this is common technology here. "This isn't mind blowing technology. This cup has a self -warming component until it feel body heat on the outside then it cools for you to drink it but that's not important. Where is Kora?" Rev picks up the tea cup and looks at it. "I am definitely taking this back with me, as for Kora she is in her room but I highly doubt she is sleeping you both were knocked out for a while. I was a little afraid Kara’s crazy ass was going to show up while you guys were out but nope nothing just you guys passed out on the floor." I have a lot of questions about Kara still. I also have a lot of questions about Charles being my dad. Why wouldn't she just tell me I was his daughter?  I would have understood she thought she was doing what was right for the future. However with Kara being the one who made that horrible future, what side does Kora stand with? I need to figure that out.

Series Wednesday: Timetopia page 71

I stand here with everyone's eyes on me waiting for me to say something. "So what will it be Ava?" Erick asks me. "Kara why did they try to kill you?"  I ask her to see if you she is a liar. I want to hear her side and gauge her as a person. "Why or how?" She asks me back. I look over to the desk where there are chairs. "Charles can we get more chairs down here? I would like us all to sit and talk." Charles nods yes and taps on the screen on the wall that I didn't see. Chairs start to come up out of the floor in a blink of an eye. "Thank you Charles. Like I was asking you Kara why do you think they tried to kill you? I would like the story from you please." I go to sit down to hear what she has to say. Rev grabs a chair and sits next to me. Everyone else slowly start to sit. "Well they tried to kill because they feared me. I was able to see the bigger picture. After we all escape the poisonous future we went back to the past. Living in the past was very eye opening for me. I saw the greed that had destroyed the future as it started. So one night I decide to make the choice. I built bombs that would collapse cities and set them off all over the world, after I got the children out of course. This was the only way to start a better world. We were raised to believe greed was just a person striving for more. We needed to reprogram the world. It scared them that I could see the big picture of what we could do with the Orbs."  Kara puts her hand up and motions around her. I think she is talking about Timetopia. I think she is saying this is the bigger picture that they couldn't see. "No Kara! You are not going to sit here and pretend like that was it. We did not fear your vision of the bigger picture. We feared your lack of empathy for life. You killed billions in a night and Kora is the one who saved the children when she realized what you were doing. So let's not pretend." Charles is very out spoken much more like Rev than I thought. "I killed people who were already dead. You saw what the world became because of their greed and lack of empathy. I treated them no different than they treated the world in the end."  Kara says back to Charles.

                I sit here and think of everything I just heard. "So you felt justified to kill all of those people for something that their future relatives were going to do?"  I ask Kara. "Yes, you see you are my niece, you see what I mean right?" I now get why Charles said she was crazy. I look at Rev who is doing this motion with her finger next to her head that I have never seen, she is doing circle over and over again next to her temple. I just shrug at her. She leans closer to me. "Home girl is loco." She whispers in my ear and leans back. I have no idea what any of that means. I take a deep breath and that’s when I notice it. Erick is barely breathing let alone moving. He is sitting in his chair with his arms to the side; I have a flash back of West back in the castle sitting chained down the same way. Erick is brain washed!!! Okay I need to calm down and not let Kara know I see it and at the same time I need Rev to see it. I need to throw everyone off. "So what was your plan Charles when you guys went to the past?" That should buy me some time. "Well our plan was to go back and slightly change thing so none of the major wars would happen. Just slight ticks not blow up the whole damn world!" Charles yells at Kara. They both stand up and are screaming at each other. I lean over to Rev. "Look at Erick, I mean really look at him." I whisper as low as I can. "He is very different then the last time we had seen him. He almost looks like West in the castle.  OH!" She whispers back to me. "It’s Kara!" I tell Rev. "Well if all that wasn't super obvious until right now, you might not be as smart as you think."  I look at Rev, how was the dead twin sister that no one told me about obvious. Wait yeah I guess when you really think about it when she wasn't dead it made it a little clear that she was behind all of this. "Okay you are probably right on that one. What should we do?"  I ask Rev who is watching Charles and Kara fight. "We need to get out of here." I nod yes and the Orb start to light up. "Stop!" Kara yells at me throwing me off. "Where are you going?" I look at Rev. "Oh forget this." Kara says as she lifts her Orb in Charles’ face who is still arguing with her.  The beam of light comes out. "You will listen to me and me alone. You live to please me." Kara tells Charles. I cannot believe what I am seeing. "I live to please you." Charles says back. "Good cut your throat." Kara says as she turns back to Erick. Charles pulls a knife out and cut his own throat, he starts to gush out blood. "NO!" Rev scream from behind me. "Get her." Kara tells Erick. Charles falls to his knees and is just bleeding to death. For a moment time feels like it stops. I can hear Kara voice over the still moment. "I am sorry it had to happen this way but I need the Orb." I look at her as Erick start to come toward Rev. I grab my Orb and focus on wanting them to back up, the Orb lets out a pulse that knocks both of them back. I grab Rev and focus on a hole and pull her through with me.

Series Wednesday: Timetopia page 70

"Way to rewrite history Charles," Erick says. Why is Erick here?? How did he get here I have his Orb. "How long were you in that corner?" Rev asks as he walks towards us out of the dark corner. "Long enough to hear Charles fill your head with lies. Kara was a visionary without whom none of us would have survived but of course Charles, Lilly and West were jealous of her vision and plotted to murder her. That is the truth about the past." Erick says. "She killed 100,000,000 people on a whim. Erick I know you two were close but when we took her out I didn't see you stopping us." Erick smiles. "I did help, just not you." Erick moves to the side. I see Kora walking up. "Kora what's going on?" She laughs at me. "Hello Ava I'm your aunt Kara nice to meet you."  She walks over to us. Charles face is in shock and he starts to step in front of me and Rev. "I don't even care how you’re alive. I just want to know why are you coming out of hiding now?" Kara walks right up to Charles and put her finger on his lips. "Hush now. I am not here for you. You matter as much as bows and arrows, once effective now obsolete.  No I am most defiantly not here for you but I am here for her."  She looks right at me. "Come here sweetheart." I get the honey tongue thing now. Every word that comes out of her mouth is sweeter sounding than the last. "Don’t be afraid we are family." She sticks her hand out for me to walk past Charles to her. I am not sure what to do. "She is my daughter and I am not going to let you get to her." Charles says to her as he pushes her hand away. “Please you insignificant tool, she is my niece and she is  only your daughter because you put that DNA firewall on the Orbs. So we needed someone with your DNA to unlock them. Along with all those other firewalls that required your DNA. Otherwise trust me she would have a much better dad then you.” She smiles at me. “Look Charles we are here just to talk to Ava for a second. After that we will leave all of you to your bidding.” Erick says trying to be reasonable.

                Rev has her knives in hand as she pushes me behind her. “You can say to her what you have to from right there.” Rev tells Erick as she looks him right in the eye.  "Well aren't you just the cutest little attack dog. Stand down attack dog or you can find yourself back in the whole my sister found you." Kara says to Rev. "I am Charles daughter because you needed his DNA?" I ask Kara as I step out from behind Rev and Charles. "Yes sweetie we needed you to have Charles DNA so you could end all this pain." It sounds like Kara has the same plan as Kora. "Where have you been hiding?" I ask Kara trying to get a feel for her. "I wasn't hiding. I was just living my life in Timetopia. I just picked a time and lived there; I thought I would live a long full life when I found out what had become of this utopia we had created. I could not stand by doing nothing so here I am."  Kara sounds so genuine but something isn't rubbing the right way. "Does Kora know you’re alive?" I ask thinking of Kora crying in her bed. "She is my twin sister of course she knows I am a live but she has to hide it which made her very sad. Kora is my everything as I am hers. You being her daughter and my blood mean more to me than you could imagine." Maybe West was right about Kora and if Kora could fake emotions so could Kara but something tells me Kara is much better at it. I lean over to Rev. "We need to get out of here." I whisper in Rev's ear. "Couldn't agree with you more." She says back. "So now that we had that talk. What is it that you want?"  Rev says to Kara. "I want for you to kill Charles for killing your mom. I want you to get the revenge you seek." Rev's face changes. "NO!" Is all that comes out of Rev's mouth. "What!?" Everyone but me says. "I will not be a pond in your game. If and when I kill Richard it will be on my terms. So now that we got that out of the way what do you want?" Rev says as she steps towards Kara. "I want my niece to come with me to say good bye to Kora before you take her back to New York." Kara step towards Rev completely unafraid of what Rev could do to her.  "See I hear the words coming out of your mouth but it's the strangest thing they sound like a bunch of lies."  Kara chuckles at Rev. "You think I care what you think that’s cute. However this isn't up to you it's up to my niece on who she trust and we are her blood. You on the other hand lied to her to get her to a person you barely knew all for your own revenge. Looking at it that way who do you think she should trust?" Kara looks away from Rev to me. "I want to talk to Kora alone." I say hoping to stop this before Rev loses her temper. "I think that’s a great idea." Rev says. "I don't think you should go anywhere." Charles says as he steps in front of me. "Why?" I ask him. "With Kara being a live Kora can't be trusted. You are my daughter and believe it or not I waited my whole life for you. I know you think I am some kind of villain but I am not I just made some mistakes that I would take back if I could." I feel like I am being pulled in different directions and I am not sure who is good and who is bad. What do I do now?

Series Wednesday: Timetopia page 69

          Rev looks confused. "Did we get some of Richard's blood on it?" She asks me but I can't move or respond. I just keep thinking about what West said about Kora cheating on him. She told him it was to save the future. Is this what she meant? "Ava did your blood get mixed with Richard's?" Rev yells at me. I look up at her and make eye contact and then look back at the knife which is dripping in his blood three feet from my blood puddle. I look at Charles who is frozen. "That’s not possible?" He says as he gets up. "I mean I did throw the knife through the air, it is possible that it mixed with her blood." Rev says in a panic. "Ava who did Kora tell you was your father?" Charles asks me but I can't move or speak. I just look down at the Orb and pick it up and as soon as I do it shows me Rev, she looks so young. I feel her hand touch the side of my face. I am climbing over a stone fence and run past people on their knees but I am behind them so they can't see me. I run all the way up a tower and there is Rev waiting for me. She holds me until I fall asleep I feel completely whole in her arm. "I love you Rev." She smile as I whisper that in her ear. "I love you to Richard." When she says it back I have an overwhelming fear come over me. Rev is in tears and I feel horrible. "Let's run away and see the world." I tell her. "Richard we are just kids we can't do that." I hold her in my arms. "Together we can do anything." I see the rock where I ask her to marry me. She says yes in her normal smart ass way. I love her so much. I feel like without her I will die.

                "Ava wake up."  I open my eyes and see Rev. "You were so beautiful and full of hope." I tell her. "I am guessing his memories were of me." Rev says as she helps me sit up. "Yes it was your guy’s life together. How can you kill someone you love so much?" After feeling what he felt for her and seeing her feeling back I no longer understand her reasoning. "He killed the only mother I ever had. No matter how much love I had for him. For that he deserves to die." I look at Rev and hug her I can't imagine this choice is easy.  "Charles is just standing there staring at me.”What did you mean you were here to save everyone?" He asks me. "In the future one of you takes over and brain washes the rest. They start to use Timetopia for testing the Decider." Charles face looks like the others when I told them about the future. "Wow and I am guessing you thought it was me."  He says I am not sure how to answer so I just nod yes. "Ava?"  Charles says. "Yeah?" he walks toward me. "Did you know I was your father?" I look at Rev. I don't want to hurt her. "No I had no idea nor did I care to find out who my father was. I have a great dad so I never asked Kora who she had me with to carry out her plan." I look at my arm that Rev stitched up. "Her plan? This is her plan to save everyone?" Charles asks me. "How did this even happen if Kora was married to West?" Rev asks Charles, he takes a deep breath. "Well Kora and I were fixing things here in Timtopia and she was distraught over losing her sister. So I was just there for her and well one thing lead to another. It was strange because Kora never spoke much to me before that week and after West caught us she never really spoke to me again."   I look at Rev and she looks sad. "So you had a daughter Richard. You always wanted a daughter." Rev just walks away. "You don't understand Rev they told me when they cured my cancer that I wouldn't be able to have kids. So I never thought this was possible. Plus I didn't want kids with anyone but you. The day I stole the files I was planning on having us both frozen I never was going to leave you behind but I killed sister Ellie and I knew you would never go with me." Rev turns and puts the knife back on Charles throat. "Don't ever say her name!" Rev's anger is back. "Rev please wait." I ask her and she seems to listen. She walks back over to me and rubs my back. "So now that you have my Orb what's your plan?" Charles asks me. "I am still deciding if I let Rev kill you. She has every right to but I now think it would hurt her more than you could imagine." Charles nods no at what I just said. "No that's not what I meant. Plus I know you are going to let her kill me. She needs it to move on and it seems like you two would do anything for each other."  I look him in the eyes and somehow I just know he wants what's best for Rev. "Can you two stop talking about me like I'm not here. Thanks!" Rev says. "Now that I have all the Orbs we are going to stop you guys from creating them. So Timetopia never happens and no one ever becomes brain washed." I explain to Charles. "Wait so you have all six Orbs?" Charles asks. "Six!?" Rev kind of shouts. "Yes, there were six Orbs. The Five and then Kara's but I am not sure if Kora has hers or if it is still where ever Kara hid it." Rev and I look at each other. "Great just another thing Kora left out." Rev says as she throws her arms in the air. "Is Kara Kora's sister?" I ask seeing as how no one has ever said her name before. "Yes Kara was Kora crazy sister." Rev takes a deep breath. "What do you mean crazy sister?"  Rev asks hesitantly. "Well didn't Kora tell you about her?" Charles responds. "Yeah but just how kind she was." I tell him. "Well Kara was kind I guess. She was brilliant to with a honey tongue."  Rev seems to know what that means because she nods yes. "What is a honey tongue?" I ask. "It is a person who speaks so sweetly that every word that comes out of their mouth is like honey sweet but sticky." Rev says. "Oh okay. Why is that a bad thing?" I am not sure I understand the problem. "Honey mouth people are normally the people up to no good. However they are great at convincing people to do what they want." Rev explains. "She was no different. Kara could convince you of anything. She had no value for life; she was a scientist to the core. She was ruthless to say the least but she loved Kora. When she found out that they were going to sell Kora into human slavery she sold out her own country. She helped start the end. She is also how Timetopia started. She destroyed all the major cities. It was a waste land after her. We had to gather together and kill her just to survive her." This is a very different story then how Kora made it seem. "So do we need the last Orb then?" Rev asks me. "Maybe, why didn't Kora tell me about Kara?" I ask Charles. "It was really hard for her to deal with. Kara had a hold on Kora like I have never seen. It was like Kara controlled Kora's breathing.  Kara was honestly a force like no one had ever seen." I am starting to question some things. I hear clapping from behind us I look at Rev who looks just as puzzled as me. "Who else is here?" Rev asks Charles. "No one." He says as he looks over Rev.  I slowly start to turn around.

Series Wednesday: Timetopia Page 68

We have been stuck in this mirror maze for hours. Lucky Rev brought snacks and water in her backpack. Not even Rev is sure how large this maze is.  "I hate him for this!" Rev says as she looks closely at the mirrors. "I wish this place was better lit." I say as I look around at the dark lighting. "We just have to keep moving." Rev says as she pulls me up off the floor. "I get this is some kind of puzzle but they could at least put benches in here." I tell Rev as I dust myself off from sitting on the floor.  The lights seem to get darker and then brighter almost like they are going to go out. We just keep moving through the maze, I don't think we have run into any traps that Rev had been worried about. The lights completely go out for a minute. I stop where I am at and Rev grabs me. "Don't stop moving come on." I hold Rev's hand and follow her through. The lights are going out for minutes at a time now. I think it must be the way this place is powered. "Stop I have an idea."  I tell Rev as I pull out the Orb. "I already hate this idea." Rev says as she stands there. I pull out the Orb to light our way. As soon as it lights up I see a man with a painted face standing behind Rev in the mirror or behind the mirror I am not sure. "Who is that?" I ask Rev as I point. She turns around and screams in fear. "OH HECK NO!!!"  I don't understand her fear of the man with the strange painted face. "What's wrong? I don't think he is going to hurt us he isn't moving." Rev is shaking her head no. "Of course he isn't going to hurt us he isn't real. He is a killer clown from a movie that used to terrify me as a child."  Rev turns toward the paint man pointing her gun at him. "Rev I think it’s okay." I try to comfort her, she starts shooting the painted man in the face shattering the mirror. I see a girl with all her hair in her face and her arms out. "What in the...." Rev says before she shatters that mirror. I stand there just watching her as she goes about shooting through mirrors, well at least it is getting us through the maze faster.

                Rev and I are running through the maze of broken mirrors. I slip and fall into a piece of broken mirror slicing up my arm nothing serious but I am bleeding quite a bit. "Are you okay?" Rev asks me as I look at my cut. "Yeah it's just a surface wound I should be fine. I just want out of this thing." I tell her looking at the maze. "Don't worry we are almost to the end I think." Rev look forward and keeps shooting all the mirrors out. "Come on let's go." Rev says as she starts to walk again. We are finally out of the mirror and there is Charles sitting at a desk. Why is he just sitting there? Rev tilts her head. "Why are you not in some kind of safe room?" Rev asks him. "Why would I? You would get to me no matter what I did. I just needed time to get some things together." I do not understand Charles' thinking at all. "Give her the Orb and then get on your knees and pay the price for her life." Rev say with a strong voice. "You can kill me Rev but you cannot have my Orb. I will never give my Orb to a child of Kora and West." Why does he keep insisting that I am West’s daughter? "I am sorry to intervene in your guy’s argument but I am not West daughter." I am not sure why I felt the need to clear that up but I am sick of him calling me the child like I am not my own person. "How do you know you're not West's daughter?" He asks and I can’t help but sigh at his question. "Because his Orb didn't light up for me." Charles just stands there. "Oh I see."  Charles says with his head down. "Okay so West isn't her father now hand over the Orb." Rev says as she steps toward him. "Come get it Rev." Charles says as he rolls up his sleeves. Rev smiles and put her backpack down and throws her gun on top of it. I don't think this is a good idea. Rev run right at him with her knives in hand. He deflects her at first but Rev jumps on his desk and kicks him in the face. As he tries to shake it off she stabs him in the side. She throws the knife cover in blood at the wall next to me. That when I notice that I am standing in a puddle of my own blood. My arm is bleeding a lot more than I thought. I look back up to see Charles drop to his knees holding his side. "Do you have anything to say?" Rev asks him. "I didn't mean to kill her Rev. You know what she meant to both of us. It was an accident and I wanted to tell you that but I was stealing your jobs secrets so it didn't feel like a good idea." Rev laughs at what Charles says. "Where is the Orb Richard?" Is the only thing she says back to him.  "You won't find it Rev so just kill me but let me say this Rev. I am okay with dying now, I ruined my life that day I killed her and stole your secrets. I lost you that day. I have been around for a long time now and it all mean nothing without you. So do your worst but know that I love you!"  Rev puts the knife to his throat. "WAIT! We need that Orb." I yell. Rev looks around and her eyes fixed on his desk. "Ava can the Orbs disguise themselves?"  It must be hiding on his desk. "Yes they can!" I say with excitement. This is almost all over.  Rev walks over to the desk and grabs a clear oddly shaped paperweight. "A giant diamond." She says as it shocks her. "Yup this is it." She starts to throw it to me when Charles jumps up and knocks it out of her hand. The paper weight changes into and Orb as it flies towards me. It lands in my puddle of blood and lights up. "Why did it light up with me blood?" I look up at Charles whose face looks just as shocked as mine.

Series Wednesday: Timetopia page 67

      "Why don't you turn around so I can see that handsome face of yours and also so you can hand over the gun." Rev says with a smile to Charles. "How are you even awake? I gave you a pretty strong sedative one that would take out a gorilla." Charles says as he turns to hand his guns to Rev. "You don't know do you?" Rev says a little shocked. "I can assure I have no idea." Rev starts laughing. "Take a good look at me sweetheart, you're looking at the first generation of embryo testing. I am a mortified person my love." Rev says in the sweetest voice. Charles’ face drops. "I didn't know that. I learned about that when I hit the future. I knew they had been doing testing in our time but I was under the impression all of it was unsuccessful." Rev knobs yes at Charles. "I am the only successful one from my time of birth." Rev smiles so proud of herself but she didn't mention her siblings who survived as well. "That explains you falling off the church roof and not breaking anything." Charles says as he starts to walk toward the giant windows, Rev follows him with the gun pointed at him. "As good as this trip down memory lane has been we need your Orb."  Rev says it like he will just give in to her request. I stand here completely still thinking how I wish things had gone a little more like I planned. How did he know we were coming? "My Orb? You are joking right? Or are you just mad!? My Orb won't work for you. Clearly you guys are working for one of us how else would you be able to time travel."  Charles says just like the others but I want to know how he knew we were coming. "How did you know we were coming?" I ask ignoring what he said. "I didn't know you personally were coming. I set my Orb to alert me when a hole is torn in the time I am in and also for it to alert me when Rev’s DNA is within 1000 yards of me." That is really smart of him. That explains the alarm sending everyone away. "So back to my questions about my Orb." Charles says as he leans with his back to the floor to ceiling windows. "Your Orb will work for me if I combine it with the others. Well with your help of course." I explain to him. "Whose kid are you?"  I smile. "Kora." I state. "Her and West had a secret baby who is now trying to what? You are trying to take us all down or something?" He is assuming West is my father I wonder why. "I am not trying to take down anyone. I am trying to save you." Charles laughs at me. "Save me? That impossible with Rev on your team. You do understand that right? She is going to kill me no matter what she has told you." I laugh at him and so does Rev, I think this is my fault for miss-wording what I just said. "She told me she was going to kill you no matter what. I think I should have worded this better. I am here to save everyone but you I guess."  Charles starts to give a small laugh. "Yeah that's what I thought. I would ask what you're going to be saving the world from but I have run out of time. So why don't we talk about that next time." Charles drops through the floor. "WHAT???" Comes flying out of my mouth. "NO!" Rev screams and run over to where he was standing. "It's a trap door!" Rev says as she stands over the square hole in the floor. "What are we going to do?" I ask. Rev look at me and jumps in the hole. I look around the penthouse to find Rev’s back pack with all the guns in it because she has mine. I see the backpack by the thing that gives out coffee. I grab her backpack take a deep breath and jump down the hole.
                The hole was long, cold and lead me to a room of mirrors. "I don't understand where we are." I tell Rev who is looking at all the mirrors. "It's a fun house that most likely leads to a safe room of some sort. We just have to make our way through and hope there are no traps." Rev says as she taps on one of the mirrors. I get up to hand Rev her backpack. "Here I think you might need this." She turns to look at me. "Yes I do need this." She smiles and grab out her gun which is much bigger than mine.  "So we have to walk through the mirrors?" I wonder if this is some kind of technology from her time. "No, the mirror are a maze. They are just set up to look like there is no way through. He took one of my favorite things and ruined it not a surprise." Rev keeps walking up to the mirrors and stepping back to look at the whole thing. "What is a maze?"  I ask Rev unsure if this is a good thing or bad thing we are about to walk into but judging from Rev's face I'm going to say bad. "A maze is a designed like a puzzle in which you have to find a way out. It is normally really fun but I have a feeling like this one isn't going to be." I walk up to the mirrors wondering how this could be fun. I like puzzles normally but this doesn't seem like a puzzle. "You said something about traps, what did you mean?"  Rev puts her backpack on her back. "You will see when we get to it. Come one." Rev walks through one of the mirrors. I walk over and see there is no mirror there it is an opening. I start to follow Rev and hope for the best.

Series Wednesday: Timetopia Page 66

      I am searching through all the screens data to see where Charles was when we were coming through the hole. I look at all the rooms and I don’t see him anywhere. I think about what Kora said about there being labs here. I look for the labs on the screens but I am not sure what a lab even looks like. Maybe I should have asked Kora and Rev to go into more detail when they were talking about it. I wonder if a workroom is the same as a lab. I look through all the workrooms to see if I can find him. I go back 20 minutes before we came through and search every room. I wonder if I can use his picture to search for his face?? I pull up his picture from the history books on the screen and start to search for his face. The screen instantly pulls him up in front of the wellness center talking to a crowd. I make the screens go quicker to follow him up to the time we come through. Right before we start to come through an alarm seems to have been set off as the hole opens for us to come through. That is when Charles ran back to the penthouse. There are no cameras in there but everyone was cleared out of the wellness center. I think that means he pulled her to the penthouse.
                I wonder the halls toward the penthouse trying to walk as gently as I can. I look around for anyone who might have stood behind but the halls are completely empty.  I have my gun in my hand but I don't want to walk with it up the way Rev showed me;  for the simple fact that if someone is hiding in here that has nothing to do with this I don't want to scare them or even worse hurt them. I walk up the stair to the next level where the penthouse is, as I reach the top of the stairs I see the door to the penthouse open. I take a deep breath and head in. I see Rev right away. She is attached to some kind of bag with water in it and she seems to be sleeping on a wellness bed. I run up to her and start to shake her but she will not wake up. "She is on a sedative. So there really is no use in shaking her." I hear Charles say from behind me. I just realized I dropped my gun as soon as I saw Rev so now I don't have it to point at him. I slowly turn around to face him. "Would you like something to drink?" He asks me as he walks over to this shiny metal tube. "No thank you." I say as he uses the metal tubs nozzle to pour out something dark with strong vanilla smell. He looks back at me and raises his tea cup. "It’s coffee just in case you were wondering what that smell was. I unlike the others couldn't give it up. I know in the new healthier world we created there is supposed to be no substitute for sleep but some habits are hard to kick. I'm sorry you have no idea what I am going on about." Charles sips on his coffee and sits on a sofa across from me. "Why don't you take a seat." he says to me pointing at the love seat not too far from where I am standing. I walk over and sit down not too sure what to say. "I have to ask; I will regret it if I don't. Why Charles?? Why the name change?" I just have to know.  "Richard was my father's name and it was what all my loved ones called me. When I woke up in the future I thought it was time for a change. My loved ones were all dead and so was Richard. Why Ava? I mean why did your parents name you that? Did you ever ask?" I laugh at his questions about my name. "My name is not Ava. Ava is short for Aviator.  They were once brave pilots who fought in wars." His face goes very blank by my explanation of where my name came from. "I know what an aviator is my great grandfather and father were both pilots. That is not a very girly name, is it?" Charles says as he looks up with great thought. "No it is not, I have been telling my parents that for many years."   He kind of makes a snort sound and shakes his head. "I just have one other question about your name." He states. "Okay. What is it?" I ask very curious what it might be. "There is no history that Aviators ever existed. We didn't want to give people heroes to admire beside us. So please explain how your parents named you after something they had no idea even existed." I stop breathing and start thinking. They didn't teach us about aviators in school. The only reason I know what my name mean is just because my parents told me. "It leads me to believe that you're not helping Rev, that she is helping you but why would she be helping you? Why are you special?" Charles says as he pulls a gun out of the sofa and points it at me. "Oh Richard aren't you always late to the party." Rev says from behind Charles with a gun pointed right at his head. "I didn't even hear you move, I forgot how good you are at that." Charles says Rev just laughs

Series wednesday: Timetopia page 65

         Rev is looking at a map of where Charles is supposed to be, she is trying to plan how we are going to sneak up on him. Kora knows what years he is in and where he stays in those years. Which year we are going to is up to me. I want to go back to the beginning before he knew Rev was here. I think the shock of seeing her will give us some advantage. I am not scared to see Charles but more scared of what Rev will do when she sees him. I don't think killing him will bring her peace the way she thinks it will, but trying to tell her that is like trying to teach a turtle to bark.  Rev looks up from her map at me. "I think this would be the best place to get him." She points at a wellness center. "Why would he be there?" I ask her not understanding how she knows he is going to be there. "Look! He keeps a penthouse on top of this one. Which means he stays there while he does his research. Trust me you have no idea how many labs I had to make beds in while he was wrapped up in a project. He is a scientist to the bone. He loves to live in his research he always said it helped him think."  His research?? What kind of research would he be doing at a wellness center? "And to think I use to believe wellness centers were a place for people to get help." I say to Rev. "Wellness center are just laboratories. We needed a friendly name for it so people would flock there when they were in need. We not only studied blood work but also human behavior there. Plus without research people would never cure anything, laborites are needed." Kora adds as if this information would make me feel better. To think that my whole life the Five were just studying us is a thought that makes my skin crawl.  "That doesn’t make things much better." I tell her. "It is not intended to make anything better it is simply the truth. If you are going to get Charles’ Orb you have to know what you are walking into." Kora says as she rubs my shoulder. "So are there any other crazy secrets we should know about before facing Richard?" Rev asks Kora. "Of Course there is but what fun would it be if I just told you." Kora stands there smiling. "Right, so we will just figure it out at the most awkward time. Got it!"  Rev responds as she finishes putting notes on the map.  "Here, have the evil brain washer and scan the map that way it can help us once we get there." Rev says as she hands me the map so i can scan it with the orb. I wish she wouldn't call the orb a brain washer. 
                "Are you ready?" I ask Rev as she puts her back pack on. "Nope not at all but today seems like a good day for vengeance, right?" I am not sure if that statement actually needs a response. I grab the Orb and think of Charles in the past, the Orb lights up and I drop it to the floor. "Here we go." I tell Rev whose face looks completely blank. Which means she is really scared that's the only time I have noticed she hides her facial expressions. We go through the hole to find Charles and I feel like I am falling. I hit the ground hard.  I haven't hit this hard since I learned how to use the Orb. "Rev" I yell out to see if she is hurt. I start to get up and I look around. It is dark and red lights are flashing which mean we set off an alarm when we came in. I just realize Rev hasn't said anything back. I look around and don't see her. I pull off my back pack to get a flash light to see if maybe she is passed out and I am just missing her in the dark.  I turn my flash light on and look around. She is nowhere near me, if I landed here and we walked though together shouldn't we land right next to each other?? I get up so I can start wondering around. I see a bunch of thing on the floor like glass and pens. It is like everyone who was in here just dropped everything in their hands and ran. I see the doors are open, it must mean no one is trying to trap me. I slowly move up the stairs I must have been in the basement which explains the darkness and lack of windows. I walk up to the main level and still no Rev anywhere. I need a new plan seeing as without Rev my plan won’t work. Should I try to get the Orb alone?? No, that seems like a bad idea. I should just try to find Rev first. Okay now that I know what I am doing lets work on the how. I look around to see all the doors to everything are open. I wonder if they left the control room open not that I would have a problem getting past the lock but it would be nice not to have to cut myself. I start to head toward the control room very slowly just in case there are any managers or wellness checkers around. I see the control room door open I am not completely sure but I don't think they are supposed to do that. I walk over to the control room and it is empty.  I am so relieved that no one is here. I put my gun down on the desk to see all the screens are off.  I start to try and turn them on to see if there is any data on what made everyone run out of here. I get the screens to turn on and turn on the cameras to see if there is anyone else in the building. I look around and there is no one. Where is Rev? I look back through the data to see if she fell through when I did. I am searching, I see me walking through the hole and Rev is next to me, we aren't all the way through it yet it is just our leg. What is that??? I get closer to the screen there is a hand coming out of another hole. I see the hand grab Rev’s leg and pull her through the other hole. Whatever it was pulled her so fast it knock us both over. Someone took her, it has to be Charles who else would it be?? Who else could it be??

Series Wednesday: Timetopia page 64

     Everyone is sitting on the sofa waiting for me to say what my plan is. "It’s okay to be nervous." Kora says trying to comfort me. I wish I could just talk to Rev about my plan. "Rev you know that game you told me about with the flash lights?" Rev face looks puzzled probably because she only told me about it once while we were on the road driving. "Flash light tag?" Rev says slowly. "Yes....... That one..... Ummmm. I was thinking we could do that to Charles. We could make him look in the dark for us flashing the lights only where we want him to look misdirecting him throwing him off for you to attack."  Kora and Rev looked at each other for a while and then back at me. "That could work if we knew exactly where he is going to be." Rev says looking at Kora for a response.  "How???? I mean we could.... Ummm well..." Kora stumbles over her words just as I have just done. We all stand there in silence I think they just realized that having me come up with a plan is not a good idea. “Ava walk me through this a bit.” Rev says as she stands up. I think she literally wants me to walk her through my plan.   

                I lay on the floor after going over the plan step by step with Rev although she thought I was crazy the first half of the time. She finally started to get on board. I am exhausted from running through the plan over and over again. “We should go for a walk.” Kora says as she reaches her hand out to me to help me up. I take her hand and get up off the floor and we head outside. “After you get the last Orb from Charles you are going to need to get back here for the last piece of the plan.” I look over at her as we walk. “What is the last piece?” I ask, she stops walking and shows me her necklace.  She must be talking about the flash drive. “Why would I need that?” I ask her not fully understanding why I would need anything from her flash drive thing.  Kora says “because you will need to go back to stop us from ever creating the time machines in the first place. This flash drive has everything my team and I have ever worked on and all of my research. I am the keeper of all of it I guess you could say.” She laughs. “How did you get that job?” I ask wondering how and why they would trust one person with all the information. "I was the only one who wouldn't use the information to benefit only me." Kora says as if its fact but she had me for her own benefit, didn't she? I am not sure what to say. "Why did they think that? I mean that you wouldn't use it to for your own benefit." I ask with West’s words in the back of my mind. I look long and hard watching every line on her face waiting for an answer. "I had nothing to use it for. We all tried everything to save my sister.  Once it was figured out that she could not be saved my life goal was to make this place everything we had dreamed about. This is why it hurts me so much to have to destroy it, but I will not let our dream become a prison for people. That is just something I needed to change." Kora is trying to do what is best for everyone not just herself. I think West might have known a different Kora. Maybe Timetopia and losing her sister changed her.  "Why can't we just find the person responsible for all of this and just stop them? Why do we have to stop Timetopia’s creation?” I ask Kora hoping that she might see there is another way then just eliminating everything I have ever known. “There is no way of knowing for sure who is doing this. Plus without the Five to keep Timetopia in check…….. It will more than likely just become the world we left behind. I can’t let that happen.  I didn’t go through all of this for this just to become what we left. I would rather you just change that world. I think you and the information on this flash drive can do just that.” I can hear the hope in her voice. “How many were killed in that ruin where your sister was buried?” I ask hoping to remind her of what she did to get herself here. “I wish I could say that those ruins killed millions but by the time we made the Orbs there were not even millions left.” Kora says sadly. “I thought those ruins were from the past not from your time. When exactly did you start it all over again?” Kora shakes her head at my responds. “Yes your right the ruins were not the future. It was the past but all those people were already dead and the future was not a place anyone wanted to go.” Kora says thing just as blunt as Rev. This must have something to do with the world they were raised in. "They were alive when you whipped out the world though, were they not?" I ask Kora trying to really understand her. "Yes they were and it was one of the hardest parts of making this new world. But at the time I thought it was a necessary evil and once I realized we did all this for nothing I came up with this plan." I hear her words and I don't think her justification of everything makes any of it right, maybe undoing everything she did to get here is the right thing. 

Series Wednesday: Timetopia Page 63

           Rev has been sleeping in my bed since the castle. She says it is for my protection but I don't believe her. I think she is scared just as much as me. I hear my door open to my room I look up and look at it. "Get up it's time to go over the plan." Kora says as she stand in the door way. I shake Rev awake. "Come on she isn't just talking to me," I tell her. Rev rolls out of bed and we start to head to the kitchen where Kora has made us food. "This is the only good part of these talks is that you make us wonderful food."  Rev says as she starts making herself a plate. "So we are finally at the end of the road on this long journey." Kora says to me as she hands me my plate. "Then I can get back home." Rev says like this has just always been the plan. "Then I will be without a home or lands or even my people." I respond to both of their statements. "You will have a chance to change the world Rev lives in but we will get into all that after you retrieve the last Orb." I really want to know what her plan is for me. I hate how she only tells me a little bit at a time. "So where is the file on Charles?"  I ask looking at the table and noticing the lack of paper, unlike any of the other Five we have faced. Kora sits down with a plate of her own. "We have his walking, talking file right here in front of us."  She looks at Rev. "He is an asshole. There I taught you everything I know." Rev goes back to eating.  Kora rolls her eyes at Rev. "Well I was a afraid you might say that." Kora gets up and grabs a folder from her desk in the corner of the kitchen. She puts the folder on the table.  Rev grabs the folder quickly and starts looking at what's inside. "Wow you have our juvenile records in here..... I am not going to lie but I'm a little impressed. EWW why do you have my high school year book photo?" Rev says while ripping the photo up.  "This was everything I could find on Charles and seeing that before he was awoken in the future you were the biggest part of his life so naturally I had to research you as well."  Kora says as she pulls the folder away from Rev. Kora hands the folder to me to look at. I open it up to see a lot of Rev in it. "Charles is going to be different from the others. He isn't from our time so his whole perception on the world was very different than ours. He will think more like you Rev so he will see anything your planning coming from a mile away." Kora says. "Trust me I have thought of that already which is why I am not planning a thing Ava is going to plan it all out." I look at Rev wondering when she has planned anything since we met. She just flies by the seat of her pants as she would say it. Great now I have to come up with a plan to beat Charles who I thought was the one behind all of this but now I am not so sure.

                "So do you have a plan or are you just going to lay in bed all day?"  Rev asks as she pulls the blankets off my head. "It's not like we ever really have a plan anyway. Why can't we just go in like we normally do?" I ask Rev as I pull the blanket back over my head, she rips it right back off.  "We could but Richard will kill us if we don't have some kind of a plan. He is too smart for that." Rev is shaking her head. I lay there wondering if we could just make him think we are there when we aren't or make him see two of us. I think I can do something like that with the Orb like some kind of illusion. "I think I got a plan. Get the weapons ready."  I tell Rev as I hop out of bed to start getting ready myself.  I start to put on some clothes as I am trying to work it out in my head how I am going to do this. First I am going to need to figure out where Charles is going to be.  I finish getting dressed and walk into the living room where my mom is sitting with Kora. When I walk in they both turn and look at me. "Hi Sweetie," my mom says. "Hi mom." she gets up and gives me a hug. I hold on to her, there is nothing in this world like my mother’s embrace. "I am proud of you. I know you were sad when you found out you were not my biological daughter. But I wouldn’t change it for the world. I love just as much as if you did come from me. Your father and I had a joke that our baby picked us. I know I won't ever see you again after this so I just wanted you to know how much I love you my sweet girl." My mom whispering all this in my ear is making the tears flow. "Where is dad?" I whisper back. "Outside," I let my mom go and walk outside. There he is standing so tall and strong with all his white hair. I hug him so tight he lifts me off the ground. "I am glad that I at least got to see you old once in my life." I whisper in my dad's ear. "I love you Aviator!" I laugh. "That's not a girl's name." I whisper into my dad's ear, this phrase is one he is use to hearing by now for it was something I said often as a young girl, I use to cry to him how my name was meant for a boy. My dad would always reassure me that a person makes the name not the name that makes a person. My dad laughs at me and puts me down. "Do you think I am doing the right thing by following Kora's plan?" I ask my dad. "I think that Kora is one of the five who created our wonderful lands and if she thinks that you can changes things for the better I have to have faith in that. I have to have faith in the daughter I raised." Once again I just feel like neither of my parents really get what is about to happen. They are just blindly following Kora. I am not sure what to say to my dad besides. "I love you dad and I am so grateful to have been raised by you."  I hug my dad. "Has she told you who your real father is?" My dad asks as he steps back from our hug. "No she hasn't nor have I asked." My dad’s face looks a little shocked by my answer. "Why haven't you asked?" My dad inquires. "I have a dad. I don’t care who might have fathered me with Kora that doesn’t make him my dad. Just like the fact that Kora mothered me doesn't make her my mom. Even if you guys would have told me you didn’t have me and none of this would have happened I would have never asked who my blood mother was. I have you guys and that is more than enough for me," I explain to my dad. His eyes start to tear up. "Ava! We need to go over the plan."  Rev yells from the front door. I smile at my dad and hug him for the last time. I start to head back to tell them my crazy idea that I hope will work.

Series Wednesday: Timetopia page 62

I sit outside waiting for Rev to come out. "Why are you out here like a creeper?" She says as she comes out handing me some grapes. "I think we should go for a walk." I tell her, she look back inside and nods yes. We start walking away from the house. "Who do you trust?" I ask Rev. "No one. That was an easy one next question." She is making a joke when I am serious. "Rev please be serious. Only 5 people have the orbs and one of them is doing bad things. So who is the bad guy?  I mean we have 3 of the orbs so that leaves 2 people to choose from. Right?" Rev stops walking causing me to stop. She turns to look at me. "Why do you think any one person is good or bad? Look Ava from everything you have seen you still haven't learned anything. No one is completely bad or good. People themselves the are mistakes, we are trial and error that is what life is about. Yes people are capable of horrific things but trying to put people into categories is what has always messed people up." I hear what Rev is saying but I don't agree. "Anyone who can kill people for no reason is a bad person."  I reply back to her statement. "No one kills for no reason. They may not all be good reasons but it does not mean they don't have one."  I am in shock that Rev is defending... well I'm not sure who she is defending. "What about Charles?? Isn't he a bad person??" I don't know where that came from but the question just blurts out of my mouth.  She shakes her head at my question knowing I don't mean to be rude but I am really just trying to figure her train of thought.  "Richard made a bad choice....... That is true, however he was never a bad person just a weak one apparently." I can tell my mind isn't the only one seeing things different because of this conversation. "Are you still going to kill him?"  I ask seeing her thoughts on that might also be changing. "Yes I have to. I know you won't understand but I am not going to kill him because I think he is a bad person, it's going to be for her. There is a saying where I am from that best explains “An eye for an eye." I look at Rev I don't think they believe in forgiveness where she is from. "Sounds like a lot of dead and blind people where you're from if that's a saying. None of this helps me figure out who is doing all of this." I feel so confused. "We are never going to make it back to my time if you keep seeing things all the same way. Since I got to your "utopia" nothing has been what it seemed. So why would you think whoever is doing this would be that easy to figure out. You are going to need to think outside of the circle for that one." Rev smiles. "Outside of the circle?" I ask I have never heard this phrase. "It works just as good if not better then a box." She laughs and starts walking back to the house. I am not sure what a box has to do with any of this.
                I walk over to Kora's room; she is lying in her bed with her door open. I knock at her door. "Come in." She says without moving. "Are you okay?" I can see the tears running down her face. "No I'm not." She says so frankly. "Did your sister create the Decider?" I have been wondering since we found out about the flash drive. "No she didn't. The Decider had been around for some time before we were born. She was just one of the many doctors to work on figuring out why it only kills some and not the others."  She just seems so sad. "Erick murdered his wife?" I ask seeing if now is the time to talk about it. "What about it?"  Kora responds. "How is he a trusted friend of yours if he is a murderer?" I ask her, she sits up and pats on her bed for me to sit with her. "There is much more to Erick then you understand. He is very brilliant, which for some can drive them slightly mad. However my sister saw past the madness to his usefulness to our projects." I hear Kora's words, but Erick murdered his wife. "I don't think killing his wife because he was mad at her for sending their daughters to school is right no matter how you look at it." Kora nods at my words. "Ava you have grown up here in a land of no fear. You will never understand the life we lived nothing was ever just as simply right and wrong. Life was just a black hole." Kora just stops speaking in what felt like the middle of her thought. She sits there not looking at me even though her eyes were pointed at me it was like she was looking past me. “We should figure out who is doing this.” I tell her hoping it will light a fire under her to get her out of bed. “That won’t matter, you will go and stop all this from ever happening. We will go back to the plan tomorrow I just need a day to process everything you told me.”  Kora says as she sinks back down into her bed. I think it does matter who is doing this but I can tell today is not the day to talk about it. I get up off of Kora's bed and head back to my room to find Rev.
